NY B&V Battle for the Cowl: Starting Rotation of planners starting November
This has been FOUR yrs in the making. I've been waiting for the moment where the chemistry and mortar has developed and solidified into a fine core that all the peripherals can be built upon.
Truth is, NY B&V was never a democracy till now, thankfully. Took a lot of time. I had to be sure I picked the right people who were responsible with the time/work schedules of others. We can NEVER be stupid with the free time of married couples with kids, married couples, weekend workers, and adults in general.
Why so early? Believe me after 3 yrs and 35 meet ups executed, I understand it takes a lot of pre-planning to keep the rhythm going month after month.
As we pulled from the hat of Dark Knight Rises ticket stubs in Atlantic City, the lottery results went as followed in this order:
1. Richard-November 2012 & February 2013
2. Courtney: March 2013 & May 2013
3. Rachel July 2012 & November 2013
4. Michael June 2013 & October 2013
5. Eric: April 2013 & September 2013
Each person in that order pick/by posting the months they will be doing meet up. For example, I believe Richard said he's doing November and February. So cross those two months off your list. And then so forth. I will update the thread every time a planner chooses their months.
Now, say someone before you picked the month that you wanted to plan something...you can negotiate a trade or barter for the month. So there's a little general manager fun in that.
Of course 5 people picking two months apiece makes 10 months not 12. That means, I'll hold the final 2 months to do as I please. Who knows I might give those away as well.
After 12 months, we expand from 5 planners to hopefully 6 or 7...
Our smaller, more intimate .5 meet ups that I often used to integrate new members from the city will always be community property. So if you didn't get in the Five, no worries...you'll have an opportunity to contribute.
I'm really excited about this NEW era of NY B&V. Kind of reminds me of the ending of the movie we just saw together....

That leaves TWO available dates after Eric and I pick. So what we'll do after 3-4 months of rotating, we'll touch base during a B&V pot luck who has the best idea, vote, and make it happen. -
