NY B&V #30: Sunday June 10th Prometheus & Brunch at La Bottega
Noomi Rapace's edgy performance in the Millenium trilogy is finally rewarded with a opportunity to put smart, strong female patriarchs are back on the map. She's got the right director for the job as Ridley Scott pioneered female heroines long before Joss Whedon was out of diapers.
At last, the movie I have been waiting for soooo long. Prometheus brings me back to my childhood where face raping creature with phalanges for appendages made me shit the bed and wished I never watched Alien in the dark. It looks like a very strong film with many contemplative parts to the plot.
There's a lesson to be learned in the myth of Prometheus: Secrets have a cost. Scientists looking to pioneer and discover mysteries of the human race might find something that will come back to hurt them badly over and over.
Not the fate I'd imagine...
