After finding out the news of MJ's sudden death, I decided to make a group dedicated to the memory of the King Of Pop.

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist and entertainer. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene at the age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the "King of Pop" in subsequent years, his 1982 Thriller is the world's best-selling record of all time and four other solo studio albums are also among the world's best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).
In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in popular music and the first African-American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and Thriller—credited for transforming the music video into an art form and a promotional tool—helped bring the relatively new channel to fame. Videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" made Jackson an enduring staple on MTV in the 1990s. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced many hip hop, pop and contemporary R&B artists.
One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era.
Jackson also had a highly publicized personal life that included charity work, his marriage, questions regarding his skin color change and plastic surgery along numerous scandals like the child molestation charges and his label disputes. In 1994, Jackson married Elvis Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Jackson married Debbie Rowe the same year and had two children, before splitting in 1999. The couple never lived together. Jackson has three children named Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II, known for his brief public appearance when his father held him over the railing of a hotel balcony, causing widespread criticism. All that along with his successful career, made him a part of popular culture for almost four decades.
He died unexpectedly on June 25, 2009, aged 50, of a suspected heart attack or cardiac arrest. The specific cause of death is yet to be determined.
He was a mysterious and tragic individual, whether the stories about him were true or not, the fact remains he was a man of extraordinary talent who left a huge mark on the entire music industry.
I honestly wasn't born during the Jackson 5 era or Michael's peak of his career, however I do appreciate what he has done for music, pop culture, dancing, charities, and the influence he had on many other singers or genres. His songs extend to everybody including my niece who is a avid Disney Channel song listener but she viewed Michael Jackson's Thriller video and enjoyed it all the way through.
Fame is a fucked up thing. Not just for the famous individual but for all those that observe them. It simultaneously places someone on a pedistal and incurs envy from those who refuse to bow down and kiss the ring. But thats not the punchline the real side splitter about fame is that its just a fricking allusion, and I dont mean to go all philisophical what I mean is more grounded than that. Its about how fans can believe they have reached a certain level of intimacy with a person theyve never met, that they dont really know and yet feel confident enough to talk about said individuals personal character as if there an authority on whether the person was good or bad.
What im trying 2 say is that fans of MJ need to keep it honest. We dont know shit about the man(I mean Ive never had a drink with the dude) and just cos he died does not change that fact(for better or worse). So its pointless trying to pass judgement on a dead man who non of us knew (cos fuck it anybody honest enough will tell you the worst person youll ever meet is the guy staring back at the mirror from u, cos were all capable of da same shit, its just ae choices dat makes us different). What we should do is acknowledge the one thing that we know is true about MJ and that is the music, what he did in his private life was his cross too bare.
*gets off soapbox, takes a shot of JD and starts humming Billie Jean*
It's a shame most of my generation has been using him as a punchline. After awhile, I just got sick of the Michael Jackson jokes, not because I defended his personal choices; it was more because the jokes were becoming so fucking stale (kind of like a George W. Bush thing... only I respect Michael).
Still, my dad would always play Jackson 5 and Michael's early solo work in his car and I always loved how it sounded. RIP, MJ (or as my dad always called him "The Gloved One").
Their are so many times that I hear a Michael Jackson song on the radio and I immediately turn it up. He was one of the greatest artist of all time. There aren't very many people that can have a unique style of music and yet everyone loves and remembers it. People of all races, nationality, loved his music. Hell maybe even aliens were mezmorized by his music. Even his short little cameo in MIB was great. When someone can make zombies dance to his music....that's one Bad MuthaF%cker...........................see if it weren't true you wouldn't be able to even make that connection. RIP King of Pop..MJ will never be replaced
He died for the world to have peace?????, dear fucking god, the guy wasnt Jesus ye know, thats the silliest things ive heard since he died, the guy was a singer and dancer, SIMPLE AS THAT
Alright look, I did not become a fan of Michael Jackson until after he died. I am not ashamed to admit that. This is a classic case of long time fans thinking that new fans are posers, in a nutshell. The fact of the matter is, when MJ was alive, a...
