The latest project I'm working on is a comic based on the Oz books by L. Frank Baum titled Emeralds: Hearts In Oz. The first issue is due out this Fall.

So I have this idea for a story (even though I don't have a script yet.) It's about a police officer, named Arthur Straine, who lives in a town called Gem city. While on patrol one night, he witneses a mob realated murder; and despite the numerous threats from members of the mob, Straine testifies in court, as a witness. two nights later straine comes home, to find his wife murdered. Unable to arrest those he belives are responible,due to lack of evidence, Straine decides to take the law into his own hands. Arthur realized that most criminals hide their face behind masks, so he designed a costume and invented a seperate identity known as; The Crimson Hawk.

The Series will be called "Gem City Heroes" and will center around Arthur's attempts at becoming a costumed adventurer. Along the way, He will meet many other heroes, and villains, in his quest to bring down Gem City's Mob.

So thats just a basic outline. I posted some concept art above. any sugggestins would be much appreciated.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the following comic book pages. This is a book I am writing with a new studio called Evolution Comics. I hoping the first issue will be out on August or September. The name of the book is:

I haven't got a letterer yet but I've included the script before each page so you can understand what is going on. The title of this issue is "A Hero's Welcome pt. 1" It takes place in the poorer suburbs of France. Good and bad comments welcomed.

Close up on the face of a dark skinned man with patches of stubble facial hair, his face is twisted, and his teeth push out from his lips, he is obviously in need of a dentist. He is speaking in French. His hair is a wooly mess. His eyes are barely open and we should get the impression that he is drunk or high.

U.K.M 1: I’m telling you man, I got on the bus today to go to work and I saw this woman sitting down, talking on a cell!

EXT. – 2 of 3 Stacked Panels – Bar Front – DUSK

Wide shot of the scene in front of the bar. The bar front looks to be a dilapidated store front that once had Victorian accents. It has been painted over crudely with black matte paint. Across the top were the name of the store was “Jacobin” has the numbers 390 painted over it in white. There are four men that stand in a group outside the door facing the unkempt man. They are large and very thug looking. A mixture of Africans and Middle Easterners, some are listening to the man, others are ignoring him while either checking their cell phones or lighting a cigarette. The Unkempt Man’s cloths are a set of baggy, dirty, and worn sweat outfit, but not ripped. He just looks like a man who just doesn’t care about his hygiene.

U.K.M 2: It was Nancy Ajram. No joke! I saw Nancy Ajram on this morning’s bus going to Le Raincy.

Thug C 3: (Off Panel) I’m sure Nancy Ajram rides the bus!

A Mid-Shot of the gang and the unkempt man talking to each other through the frame of binoculars. The Unkempt man is urgently trying to get the gang to believe him, but, unfortunately, takes his claim to new heights. The gang in reaction are desperately trying not to laugh and keep their tough exterior.

U.K.M. 4: I’m not lying at all! She was there and we made eye contact and I could tell she wanted me. To please her. And I came right up to her to kiss her. Right there on the bus!

Thug A 5: Yeah well I did Beyoncé last night now she’s a Muslim inside and out!

Thug C 6: (to unkempt man) It was probably and transvestite you made out with!

Full page panel from outside of a car looking into the passenger side window rolled down. Sarah lowers a set of compact binoculars from looking at the group of men outside the bar. She is wearing casual clothes and a black trench coat. Pandora is in the back seat leaning into the front compartment looking to Sarah. She is wearing her usual adventuring uniform. Jason is sitting in the driver seat looking in the direction of the bar. He is dressed casually with a jacket. This is our title page so put in the title of the book Pandora and the arc title “Hero’s Welcome” part 1 of 3.

Angle from behind the Unkempt Man, the four thugs have pulled their guns on him, Thug A is front and center and is the one holding the gun under the unkempt man’s chin. Thug B, the next closest holding his gun over Thug A’s shoulder, in his other hand is his cell phone. Thug C is flanking Thug A also pointing his gun. Thug D is behind them all holding his gun up to show him that he has a weapon. There is absolute silence except for the person on the other end of the cell phone.

Cell 2: (burst) ‘ello?

Close up on Sarah’s face. Sarah is watching the exchange through her binoculars. Just before she takes a sip from a pocket flask.

The Unkempt Man has his hands raised and is grinning while sweating bullets.

The Unkempt Man is backing away slowly. Still grinning but his eyes are panicking.
