This is a question for all Death Note fans out there:

Is there anyone who thinks killing off L midway through the series was a mistake? I myself really loved the kind of "mutual respect between enemies" thing going on betwen Light and L, and I was expecting it to continue throughout the series. In fact, the main reason I continued ploughing through the rest of the series was that I was hoping L would pop up near the end and be all "got ya!" to Light (which would have been awesome IMO).

I wouldn't have minded L dying at the END of the story. I actually would have welcomed it as a good narrative decision. But the way it DID happen just felt like a mistake in an otherwise amazing series.

What does everbody else think?
