1979, because the remake was a piece of shit. The original had style, the remake just tried to copy the Halloween formula and add a buck more gore and sex. That doesn't make a movie, it lacked everything that I loved about the original and actualy offended me afew times. Any way the original is the easy pick, it's a classic timeless horror.

1979, Nightmare made a good point, horror is becoming just another money maker, although not all horror.
The original had suspense, tension and mystery

I love horror movies , but there just not any good any more . What happen to sitting at the edge of your seat , gripping the arm rests at the movies and just being scared out of youir mind ?!!

Tell me where and when and I'd be glad to make a film. In an afternoon I bet we could write a better script then the ones being aborted out of hollywood. Like you said horror just isn't what it used to be it's about money now.

i have to say i hate remakes and the Halloween 2007 thing is one of the reasons why.1979 by a landslide please come on people No question about it

i think id have to go with, i wouldnt even class it a horror, but The thing, just cause apart from the alien, kurt cant beat a 80's cpu at chess, ha. those crazy swede's, brilliant
