For me the best horror movie ever was a film called Dead Birds. I can't say it's a good movie but it has the best scare scenes ever. It scared the hell out me and that doesn't happen often.

Alien. The very first movie. To me, this was the greatest. It didn't use music that went loud to make you surprised. It just had an atmosphere that made you more and more tense as the characters moved through the space ship.
