I posted this in a forum thread asking the same thing, but for my money I'd say Evil Dead II. Dollar for dollar it's nonstop greatness. Not a wasted minute in the entire movie, with either great laughs, scares or excitement. Next for me would be John Carpenter's The Thing, which to me is nearly timeless.
Did you really? My bad. Evil Dead II is a remake of the first. My friend Kara and I met Bruce like 10 years ago. I mean a truely scary movie. My money is on the 1960 Haunting.
I will agree with the haunting being a great novie , I will say that the house of 1000 corpses was just stupid , and for it to come from rob zombie is just a shame .
The Exorcist is up there. I think if you took the religion aspect from it it wouldn't be that scary. If she was being held by Brittany Spears instead of Satan, it just would have been another gore fest...actually anything with Brittany Spears is pretty scary.
Wait! Does anyone have the French Subtiled version of "High Tension" or know where I can get it? I have the dubbed version but I really like that movie....but it's in French.
Let`s get to it!
NOTE: I didn`t see a lot of movies this year so ...
Number 10:
I like this movie a lot, but if the story and the characters would have been better it would have ranked higher on my list.
