Ah, public school. I had the same English teacher for 9th and 10th grade, and she frequently used the word 'ain't' and the term 'he/she don't' (instead of doesn't). I can't tell you how many threats of detention I got for attempting to correct her. Oh yeah, I'm an old-school grammatical rabble-rouser.
Is it any wonder why NC is often ranked last in education?
