Comment by Colin Gillespie on June 16, 2011 at 5:56am Liam Neeson is Back for "The Dark Knight Rises"
Earlier this year, Liam Neeson said that he will "definitely" not return to play Ra's Al Ghul in "The Dark Knight Rises." Then came news that Josh Pence wascastin thefilmas the young Ra's Al Ghul and that the character will appear in flashbacks to tie the thirdfilmto the first one.
Variety has now learned that Neeson is officially onboard. In fact, the actor has already been spotted shooting a scene inLondon. But is Ra's Al Ghul able to come back after dying in "Batman Begins." Neeson previously explained: "In the comic books, Ra's Al Ghul goes into a life bath of some sort and immerses himself to become immortal."
That life bath is called The Lazarus Pit, which we know is inthe moviesince photos of it appeared from the set in India.

Let's get this project back on track, bub. After Darren Aronofsky decided not to direct the upcoming X-Men spin-off The Wolverine, we were worried it might derail the project entirely, but Fox has made it a priority to get things back on track. It now looks like James Mangold (of Girl Interrupted, Kate & Leopold, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Knight & Day) is their top choice to direct. Deadline is reporting that Fox and Hugh Jackman both want Mangold to direct, but he hasn't signed on yet. However, Fleming says "negotiations are about to get underway, but I'm told that Mangold will take the helming job." Looks like he'll be their man.
Mangold is an okay choice. Other directors in consideration as recent as this week include Warriorhelmer Gavin O'Connor and Brooklyn's Finest helmer Antoine Fuqua. According to Deadline, Fox still wants this to start shooting in the fall - now most likely after Jackman finishes Les Miserables. Additionally, the script from Oscar winner Christopher McQuarrie (Usual Suspects, The Way of the Gun, Valkyrie, The Tourist) is still intact, which is great news as it sounds like Mangold might be able to salvage the ideas Aronofsky had originally worked on. Now we'll just have to wait to see if they can keepthis iteration on track. Thoughts?

We heard that a new Pokemon game was going to be revealed on May 21st. That might still happen, but now it seems like all the details about the new game will be unveiled on June 15th via CoroCoro, a Japanese magazine. We’re still not sure if this game will have anything to do with the Nintendo 3DS. But at the very least, it’s a new Pokemon title of some sort, so it’s probably worth getting at least a little excited for it.
