If it's crap ... We'll tell you

Heartless

Give me a movie sequel,tv series or even a cartoon movie where they changed the actor playing the character and your feelings.

Well i guess this is also a form of censorship in one way or another... can you think of a movie series or a tv series or even a cartoon movie for that matter that either upset you or made you happy with the change of who played a specific character? Alot of cartoon movie sequels are prime examples.. When they start out in the theaters they have top Hollywood actors but when they make the sequel they dumb it down with other lesser known people givin' it that generic feel.. Enter: Open Season2.

Another great and recent example in a movie is Iron Man.. Alot of people are pissed with the studios decision to go with Don Cheadle as opposed to Terrence Howard, who in my opinon fit the role great.. Not that i have anything against Don Cheadle 'cause he's great but when the studios do shit like that they fuck up the continum thats there.. but anyway, how do yall feel?iron mam-homem de ferro Pictures, Images and Photos

I think the most obvious one is Val Kilmer as Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever. They did get someone who was supposed to have a better range of character. However it was a very wooden performance, because it was supposed to be more "family friendly" and less dark, it was a mess. Also, recasting the character of Harvey Dent. Two Face was supposed to be Billy Dee Williams, but Tommy Lee Jones was the guy. It's shame that they made Two Face the way they did. Instead of having a dark villain to play off of Jim Carrey's funny (but creepy) Riddler, it became obvious Jones was trying to out Jim Carrey Jim Carrey, especially when you consider the time period.

Now granted, this wasn't the worst Batman movie I've seen, but it certainly had the most wasted potential.

LOL.. Yeah lookin' back in retrospect it was a bunch of bullshit but way back then I was so young that i didn't realize how much of a crock of shit it was.. I think that was the summer of '95 if I'm not mistaken so that would make me either 11.

The Batman movie created in '89 with Micheal Keaton and it's sequel we're not that bad to me. I don't think they did a bad job with those. I think they had the ambiance right but they were in no shape or fashion "great". When they did that 3rd one I think they were tryin' to put it in a whole new direction and wanted to use to some high calibur actors. At the time Jim Carrey was hot and Val Kilmer was kinda up and coming. So you got a fresh handsome new guy and funny as hell A-lister. Not to mention a veteran(Tommy Lee Jones).Ultimately,a good lil ride for the theaters and Batmans fans but a sorry ass movie.. But as bad as it was it still wasn't as bad as Batman & Robin..

Well, Returns to me wasn't in the same ambiance as you said, because Burton made it a Batman movie in name only; everything else was just his vision or his imagining, not ever taking into account the source material or for that matter the continuity within the first film. With Batman, the look of Gotham City was pretty grimy looking and the architecture closely echoed the comics. In Batman Returns, Gotham looked like it was ripped out of the movie Edward Scissor Hands, with the Expressionist looking scenery, the weird looking statues in Gotham Plaza, and and the winter-filled sets at the old Gotham zoo. Everything reeked of this overtly Gothic imagery that didn't really fit within the continuity of the '89 movie. Both of these movies were dark, yes; but the look in between films was inconsistent.

But one thing that really redeemed Batman Returns was they nailed Catwoman and Batman's relationship. After watching Michelle Pfieffer's performance, I doubt there is an actress out there who can equal or surpass what she put into her performance as the Feline Fatale. Burton always knows how to tell these twisted tales of romance, complete with the un-Hollywood ending. That's just how Batman and Catwoman's romance ends up becoming.
