*So do any of you have theories about aspects of the show? Or maybe a random thought you want to discuss about it? Here's the place to discuss it!

Here's a thought I had the other day and discussed in the Fringe-Forum (really good site by the way, has an awesome group of people. But just a warning, some discussions may cause your brain to hurt HAHAHA)

Anyways my thought was, they said there is two of everyone..one in each universe(well at least in the two known universes)...But, they also said that each universe is different based on the choices people have made in that universe.

So wouldn't that mean that in the alternate universe some people never existed .that exist in our universe..and other people that exist in the alternate universe do not exist in our universe?
Because some choices people made could have lead to people dying before they had children, some people may have chosen not to have children, or they did have a child but not at the same time so it would be a completely different child, etc.

An example would be, if my grandfather ( the alternate universe one) died before my mother was born, everyone in the lineage beyond that point (my mother, her brother, his daughter and me and my brothers..and so on) in our universe would not exist in the alternate universe.

Sorry if I just confused you guys HAHA

Interesting point, but if you go by the series' logic, if someone 'dies' in one universe, because a balance must be maintained, the same person in the alternate universe would die also. Conversely, the 3500 people that died in the World Trade Center attack are either dead in their universe, or the towers were rebuilt, maintaining the balance. Therefore the balance is maintained, even though different choices were made.
Yes but Peter died...and Alternate Peter did not. So is it possible that the balance can be maintained by someone else dying in the other universe...someone of the same mass? So the 3500 who died in the WTC might not have died in the other universe, just people of the same mass. Because wouldn't people in the alternate universe think it was weird that all of a sudden a majority of people who worked in the WTC died? So like how they attacked the white house instead of the WTC...the people in the white house would make up for a percentage of the people in the WTC.
