Pool's Comics - August 8, 2008
DC
Detective Comics #847 - Hush is out to get Batman and his loved ones but he does more talking then doing in this. This is feels more like Hush 2 the R.I.P. if you don't like Hush don't get this, if you do like Hush you would love this.
Rating: 8/10.
Final Crisis #3 of 7 - Mary Marvel kicks the shit out of Wonder Woman and Barry Allen is back. this comic is good but i don't know what the fuck is going on. Also, this is more like a elseworlds story then anything else.
Rating: 7/10.
Nightwing #147 - Two-Face is a complicated guy, sometimes his good other times his bad. He hasn't been good to Nightwing for a long time. Good read, no Batman, alot of Two-Face, someone might be dead at the end of this.
Rating: 8/10.
Robin #176 - Robin is going through a bad period of his life, his girlfriend came back from death, no one is scared of him and Batman is going insane. This issue shows how Tim Drake could be a really good Batman but how he also only wants to be Robin.
Rating: 9/10.
Marvel
Avengers/Invaders #4 of 12 - The Invaders are trying to escape the Helicarrier but thats a little hard when the Mighty Avengers show up. This series is good but there is nothing special about it and is very slow.
Rating: 7/10.
Cable #6 - This shows Cyclops feelings towards Cable and what he should have done. This issue is good, there is very little Cable in it and no Bishop.
Rating: 7/10.
Hulk #5 - It's the fight everyone has been waiting for, Hulk vs. Thor! This issue was just a non-stop fight, it ends on a cliffhanger on Thor's end and Green Hulk's end.
Rating: 9/10.
The Invincible Iron Man #4 - This issue follows Pepper Potts and how she is recovering, Tony Stark and how he deals with his out of armor time and Stane working on his new armor. It's amazing how much I enjoyed this issue, this comic so far is perfect all around.
Rating: 9/10.
Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas #2 of 4 - I have to ask, is this in the Marvel Universe or in the Movie Universe because Fin Fang Foom is in it but he looks completely didfferent but Iron Man knows him. Either way this series is great but wait for when it comes out in trade.
Rating: 8/10.
Punisher War Journal #22 - G.W. Bridge finally beat frank Castle, after all those years he finally got Frank Castle. Thats untill Jigsaw blows up a car that is transporting Punisher so he can kill him. Great story, terriable art.
Rating: 7/10.
Secret Invasion: Fantastic Four #3 of 3 - Thing and Torch are cutting through the Negative Zone so they can find someone that can bring them home but what if that person doesn't wan to do it. This was a good mini-series that sets up what Thing and Torch will do in Secret Invasion.
Rating: 8/10.
Secret Invasion: Front Line #2 of 5 -This issue show the monster side of the Skrulls, they seem more like The Aliens from Alien just killing people. I like how they expanded the people they talk about and show what the civillians of New York are going through.
Rating: 8/10.
Skaar: Son of Hulk #2 - Non-stop action in this, Skaar takes on everybody and kills everybody. The biggest problem with this is how is Skaar still alive, who is his friend, how did Axeman Bone become the leader of everything.
Rating: 8/10.
The Twelve #7 of 12 - The Phantom Reporter is back baby! And his taking charge of this little group of heros. Captain Wonder finds his old partner, Captain Tim and Blue Blade just wants to be famous. this series is amazing everyone should buy it.
Rating: 10/10.
Wolverine: Killing Made Simple - The first story shows Wolverine saving Trance, a young mutant from being brainwashed by Granny, a mutant who kills other mutants parents. This story is the better of the two and is a good one-shot. The next story shows Wolverine going to Alaska to find a secret base that has been under attack by a deadly virous that takes control of humans and make them killing machines. There is also a preview of Wolverine: First Class #5, but it aint great.
Rating: 9/10.
Wolverine Origins #27 - This continues telling Daken's origin and how Romules takes control of him. This issue is better then I thought, tells a little more history of Wolverine and it hints that Daken could be Wolverine 2. This also has my favorite Wolverine line ever, "So what's one more tear in the ocean?" you have to read the issue to understand why.
Rating: 10/10.
