If it's crap... We'll tell you

My top ten comics

10. Gene Wilder – He didn’t do much, if any stand-up but Gene was in some of my all time favorite comedy films. Blazing Saddles, The Producers, Willy Wanka and the Chocolate Factory, Young Frankenstein, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Silver Streak witch is more then enough to earn him a spot on my top 10 list.

9. Jon Stewart – If you’ve never seen the Daily Show, then what the hell is wrong with you? What I really love about Jon is he makes fun of both the left and the right and dose so with such ease.

8. Rodney Dangerfield – thought I’d show him some respect and put him on my list.

7. Eddie Izzard – About two years ago my dad got me the DVD of Dress to Kill and I couldn’t stop laughing. If you ever want to see how a pro comic does improvisation check Izzard out.

6. Louis CK – The father you wish you had.

5. Lenny Bruce – A comic that pushed the boundaries of the First Amendment. His fame came from fearless monologues which utilized vulgar language. His stand up shows centered around socially topics like sexuality, religion, and racism. No topic was too sacred for Bruce and he was frequently harassed by authorities. Bruce was the last comic to be arrested for obscenity. What would comidy be without Lenny?

4. Chris Rock – Can a brother get one rib?

3. Richard Pryor – Is there a top three lest Pryor isn’t on? If you don’t think Richard Pryor is funny you’ve never seen Richard Pryor stand up shows, and I want nothing to do with you.

2. Bill Hicks – If you don’t know who Hicks is look him up on youtube.com and get ready to have your mind blown out.

1. George Carlin – I cried the day I heard Carlin died. A man who spent 50 years in comedy, released over 20 comedy albums, had his own TV sitcom, appeared in 13 movies, publeshed about 10 comedy books and most important to him, he wrote and performed in 14 HBO stand-up comedy specials. The man was Mr. Conductor come on how do you not love him? George Carlin was a comedian god and I’ll miss him.

So thats my list, what about you? Who our the comedians you love?

you see, i love them all
but, i find cosby a little bit annoying
his jokes are clever and all, but he relies on voice play...
i think he could do a lot better if he just focused his material on content and toning down the delivery just a bit
don't get me wrong, i have all of the man's records (hell yeah, vinyl baby XD)

But, i love your list A LOT :)
good work, jack
