Just finished watching A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.
Here are the highlights:
1) Tuesday Knight - No, it's not a misspelling of the time the movie starts off in, it's an actor's name.
2) Tuesday Knight is now the actresses playing Kristen, the blonde girl from the part 3. Takes a while to figure that who she is supposed to be.
3) Joey (Rodney Eastman) and Kincaid (Ken Sagoes) return from part 3.
4) Kincaid's dog's name is Jason.
5) Jason, the dog, pisses fire to bring Freddy Kreuger back to life.
6) Joey has a 'wet dream' of a naked chick swimming in his water bed.
7) 'Weight Bench' scene followed by 'Turning into a Cockroach' scene.
8) This one is the best: Freddy RAPS during the end credits!
And guess what? The Fat Boys, that's what!

Ozma of Oz, you would have gotten 5 out of 5 if you did your written evaluation on A Nightmare on Elm Street 2.

Think about it, you did it on the A Nightmare on Elm Street #1 and got 4 out of 5.

If you were to increase the 'number' of what 'part' A Nightmare on Elm Street of the series you were watching (In your case, #1) by one (Up to the #2 movie) you would in turn also have increased your final paper number grade by one.

Oh, to add to the A Nightmare on Elm Street talk. I recently bough not cassette tape, yes that, a tape of Fresh Prince's He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper which has a song titled 'Nightmare On My Street'.

I thought the song was going to be about how life on a ghetto or inner city street can be a real nightmare filled with real people dieing for real.

I was way wrong. The song is about "A guy named Fred, that wears a hat and a sweater that is green and Red. It doesn't matter if it's a hot day, he wears that darn sweater anyway."

The real nightmare is that I bought the tape for 25 cents, but a feel like I sold any type of self respect I had because I actually rolled down the windows and played the song loud because I was foolish enough to think all those jokes about Will Smith Unoffensive rap were just that, jokes.

Well, Tessa, you are yet another person who posted something that made me go over board enough that I had to make a blog out of the reply I would have posted for your comment.

Here is the blog (for your podcast consideration):

80's Style Theme Songs for Jennifer's Body and Saw

Here's a taste of my new blog's 80's Style Theme Song for Jennifer's Body:

You know she's a hottie,

but she's like a Vampire or something,

So........

Keep your hands off,

Jennifer's Body!

She might have all those curves, and you with no breaks.

She might kill and eat you or something, so instead take a class in auto-body!

Keep your hands off,

Jennifer's Body!

Dream Warriors is definitely one of the more entertaining Nightmare movies...and it has an especially kick-ass theme song ;)

I just finished watching A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.

Since starting with the first, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors is my favorite so far.

Part 3 revolves around about 7 teenagers (children of the adults who killed Freddy) who were all put into the same section of an Insane Asylum because people think they are all suffering a 'mass psychosis' and not having their dreams haunted by a guy wearing a hat and a red and green striped sweater.

The cool thing is that besides Freddy, each teenager is also terrorized by his or her own demons and/or limitations. When they all decide that they need to fight Freddy in "Dream Land', by means of group hypnosis, they decide that they need to fight without their real world problems so they need to discover their 'Dream Power'.

Their Dream Powers aren't just corny excuses for special effects or interesting fight scenes, they are actually the image of the person they or anyone with the same problems would like to be.

This is where Freddy really shines.
Freddy uses each separate teenager's insecurities to fight against their Dream Powers. For example, a teenager who is paralyzed and confined to a wheel chair in the real world dreams himself to be able to walk. Freddy, being Freddy, materialize a killer wheel chair with Roman gladiator chariot spike wheels and a spiked seat. Since Freddy, unlike other killers (Jason, Micheal Myers, Leatherface), torments his victims with spoken slashes he has not one, but two perfect kill lines before he sics the killer chair against the dream walker:

"It's THE CHAIR for you!"

"Time to get....Back in the Saddle Again."

What makes this particular fight between Freddy and the kid who imagined himself to be a powerful wizard and not a wheel chair bound weakling is that the chair doesn't kill the kid. The chair merely injures the kid's legs, but the kid wills himself to stand while transforming into an all powerful wizard.

Freddy brushes off some Wizard hand lightning and just grabs the kid by his throat and guts him with his blades.

Don't worry, Freddy had one more perfect kill line for this Dream Warrior:

"Sorry kid, I don't believe in magic."

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is exactly like the first one, except with a teenage boy who has nightmares who moves into the home where the first movie's main character, a teenage girl, lived.

So, you might just want to skip 2 and go directly to:

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

Interesting ZM. The thing is, I want to be scared and at the same time, surprised. I want my mind to go off and try to figure out what its going to happen. With Elm's street, I got nothing. Everything was predictable and I felt like Wes wasn't really trying.

However, I will say that the idea of turning your back on a fear and that whole fight between the girl and Freddy was brilliant. I like it when girls show backbone.
