What are your thoughts on video games that are completely non-linear and give you little to no help as far as what to do, where to begin and how to progress? Something that the first Legend of Zelda and Metroid games did a lot of. Do those games help immerse you in the experience and let you discover your skill at figuring out what to do, or does that aspect make a game frustrating?

Are there any games that many people praise but you personally don't like? For me a lot of my friends love Gears of War but I don't find it to be that fun of a game.
