Well, I just got back and before I left I saw Genius Party, Piano no Mori, and the new Evangelion (the first part of the movie trilogy). They were all pretty great with the former being the best. Once again Shinichiro Watanabe and Shoji Kawamori proving WHY they are the best at what they do. Anxiously awaiting the second part of the Party, guys.
I also saw a SHORT trailer for the new Production I.G. project. Something about "Airwalkers" or whatever. It looks interesting, and I'm down for anything those guys put out. Even Gainax and Gonzo go to I.G. when they want good animation.
As for series, I just finished Kyou Kara Maou (TV) and I'm waiting for the OVA that's coming out in Nov. in Japan. Also watching Mushishi, Darker than Black, and I'm gonna start reading xxxHolic again. Hellsing needs to FINISH.....now that I'm back in the states I don't know what I'm gonna do for my comic fix...
I am following Ergo Proxy right now, its pretty awesome so far. I also like the Gun Sword series and of course the classics like Cowboy Bebop , Hellsing Ultimate , Tri-Gun, 3x3 Eyes, and Record of the Lotus War
I am currently finishing up Inuyasha, and the 5 movies. Yeah I know I am late but I stopped 3/4 through and picked up again. Plus I am always busylol I am also on and off of Mr. Keaton.
Before that I refinished Gundam Wing, including endless waltz. Best Gundam series ever in my opinion.
Depends on your tastes. It does a good job of not taking itself too seriously, and if I could compare its style to a modern day anime I would say it resembles Bleach.
There is an emphasis on comradeship in the series, so you will become very familiar with the characters quirks and whatnot. There are some things that are overdone, but if you find yourself liking 1-3 of the main characters then you are set.
Still waiting for someone to recommend a good vampire anime for me :(
Hellsing. Hellsing ALL THE WAY. The TV series is good, but it deviates from the manga. Watch Hellsing Ultimate, which is a retelling with Kohta Hirano (the writer of the manga) at the helm.
He is so MUCH at the helm....that besides the jump entries there hasn't been a new volume of Hellsing in almost a year.....grrr.....
Another one?? Vampire Hunter D/Bloodlust....Master of Mosquiton....I like those. MoM is hilarious. There is a NEW series that I saw for a split second, but it doesn't look that promising and I forgot the name of it.
I'm looking up Hellsing Ultimate now, thanks for the tip hardcore. I saw Vampire hunter d a long time ago and loved it, but a lot of people (more deep into anime than me) hated it to death for some reason.
@Brinstar what did you hate about Hellsing? If you say it was bound by convention then I already detest the serieslol
That's true. They leave it off unfinished I guess because they didn't think the show would be that successful--but alas it was. And you got to admit, the music is badass. I play the soundtracks all the time. I can't wait for Hellsing Ultimate to come out, so I can show all of my friends the part where Victoria Seres goes PWNZOSAURUS on some Nazi ghouls....heheheh. Speaking of which, just in case there is any doubt: Anime Victoria <<<<< MANGA Victoria.
I dunno, considering a horrible series like Big-O survived on Cartoon network it may just have a chance. And with offbeat animes like Super Milk Chan showing late I can see a possible reason to show it :D
I loved full metal but hated the ending, possibly one of the worst endings of all time.
its obvious that i should say the Naruto series. but i am more into the manga than the anime. although i watch the japanese fan-sub version every thursday.
