Was there anime which built up all this suspence or goodness and just failed to give it a good bang at the end.
The anime doesn't even have to be bad, it just has to not deliver all the goodness it promised at the end.
To me Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid did it the worst for me. Definitely the best in the series with its drama and darkness, the show ended on a very light childish note for me.
I would say the Big O. They just build the show up in its second season with all this cool shit with new bigs and the possibility of other city or the fact that this is just a stage with a ceiling and floor and what do they do. Show you a giant big and erase everyone's memory. WTF. I would be so happy if they got the money for a third season. I know they won't but I am still dreaming.
I can't really agree that bebops ending had any issues, the whole series built up to the point where there could only be one possible conclusion.
Evangelion ended in a way in which the last few episodes where driving, basically the de-construction of all the characters, to the point of complete mental destruction.
The trigun ending was not ment to be an ending to the series, but more to promote the manga, which flushs out the story alot more.
Now a show like Gazaraki that's an anti-climatic ending. Any series by Rumiko Takahashi are very anti-climactic they last episode never really feels like a last episode.
