The AFX is a one day event, usually held the first Saturday of November.
This event is created to showcase short films by artists who do not often get the chance to present their work to a broader audience and create a venue that includes filmmakers, audio-visual artists, VJs, web designers, gamers, television producers, advertising creatives, musicians, as well as performance artists. And everyone who seeks to be stimulated and agitated by film.
Anything goes, as long as it's visual, so if you have something to submit, please go to their site.
As a matter of fact I would love to make a short, so if you have any ideas, contact me.
Location
Last time they held the festival in Westerpark, which is near my place.
It's a great place to hang out, there are pubs, restaurants, and a cinema.
If all goes as planned, AFX will happen in mid-November.
We accept film submissions all year long and participate in other festivals,
including the Cine Trans Europe exchange program.
Yes sorry, we at AFX are a grassroot organisation, consisting of volunteers.
We do take submissions and will showcase it, if it fits in the program.
Your work will be advertised on our website, and will be entered in competitions (more like a visitor choice award thing)
We'll spur into action around July, I'll have some more info for you then.
Right now we are trying to find sponsors, in order to pay for the venue, the site, advertisements, etc.
O.K. SO I have never done a review before..so my very first here and now!
