Call me crazy but I consider Bruce Lee to be the true father of mixed martial arts.
Anytime you watch a Brucce video on youtube someone always pipes in.
" If Bruce were alive now he would totaally get killed in mma."
Im thinking ,"Are you fucking serious?'"
Then they mention fighters that wouldnt even be in Bruce's weight class. He would be so ridiculous at this that no one would want to fight him. pPease chime in with your thoughts.

I have to agree with your first statement. His philosophy dictated that there is no one superior style of martial arts and that all types were needed to get the job done (see the interview about "being like water"). So he practically invented the "no-style" style which includes anything that works and is effective. Look at the first scene of Enter the Dragon. There are no other kung-fu films that I know of, even today, that showcase so much grappling.
As to "getting killed" in modern MMA fights? I'd have to say that he would for two reasons:
1) The fight rules would hold him back
2) He'd be old and slow today
Now if he was the same age as the young bucks in MMA, I'd say he may loose a couple of fights the first time around, but his work ethic and philosophy would make me bet heavily in Lee's favor.
