But even if everyone has their favorites, just how long until we start getting the same 5-10 names mentioned. Just in different orders? I am sure that out of your ten favorite villains, you'll name about 4-5 of my favorite. That's why 'ranks' are sort of silly.
How about, shut the fuck up and let the people enjoy their "top" lists? Oh, and stop hopping from thread-to-thread feeding people your philosophical bullshit. MDS, you're one of those guys that has to constantly question the status quo to look significant and unique. Well, sorry to break it to you, but you're just like every other sad fuck on this site that hates whatever is "IN" at the moment to appear somewhat edgy and intellectual. If you don't like "top/favorite" lists, go to another thread dick-wad. :D Smiley for joooooo!
Rankings are great because everyone has their own criteria as to what makes a film villain great. It would of course be helpful if people tried to justify their opinions. Is it based on originality, power, ability or cleverness, cruelty, performance of the actor, or a combination of things.
Hannibal Lector - The Silence of the Lambs (Incredibly cunning and cruel, and a tremendous performance)
T 1000 - Terminator 2 (For its time the F/X are amazing, and the intensity and tension the character brings to the film)
Nurse Ratched - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (I cannot think of a character in film one loves to hate more)
Amon Göth - Schindler's List (As a German I believe this list cannot be complete without at least one Nazi, and he seems crueler than most. Besides the amazing performance of Ralph Fiennes)
The Joker - The Dark Knight (One word. Chaos)
