The year is not done yet, but I remember Jeff and the crew saying how they have not been impressed by a lot of games this year. So I've been trying to look back and see what games really impressed me too. This way we can help each other make out final lists as well!

So here are the games that will most likely end up somewhere on my top ten so far (still need to catch up on a few)
- Borderlands 2
- Halo 4
- Mass Effect 3 (minus the ending)
- The Walking Dead
- X-Com: Enemy Unknown

Have only played 4 released games this year. Not enough to make a list. Out of the four, Mass Effect 3 was the best.

I haven't played a lot of games either, but right now my list would be...

Dragon's Dogma

Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Halo 4

Mass Effect 3

The Walking Dead

I only played enough games for a top 5.

Best soundtrack - TTT2

Game I want to play, but don't have the time to - Borderlands 2.

Borderlands 2

Mass Effect 3

The Walking Dead

Transformers Fall of Cybertron

Resident Evil 6

Darksiders II

Skyrim:Dawnguard DLC

Haven't played many games this year to really know myself. I think the only ones from this year I've played were Mass Effect 3, Dishonored, and Spec Ops: The Line which all three I enjoyed.

Also not played a huge number of games but, here it is...

Sleeping Dogs

Dragon's Dogma

Max Payne 3

The Walking Dead

And I guess Mass Effect 3, though it was for me a definite step down from ME2, and thank god I waited for the Extended Cut before finishing the game as if I'd played it with that original ending, boy I woulda been piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssedd!!!!!

BEST OF 2012 (so far):

Major Retail Launches:
- Mass Effect 3 (with the 'extended cut')
- The Darkness 2
- Dishonored
- Spec-Ops: The Line
- Halo 4

Best downloadable game (first time in recent memory where the downloads beat the major releases):
- I Am Alive
- Sine Mora
- Alan Wake's American Nightmare
- Mark of the Ninja
- Journey
- The Walking Dead
- Dust: An Elysium Tail

Man I'm looking at everyone's top tens and really if that's what came out this year that's at the top it really was a lacklustre year then.

I mean I enjoyed Borderlands, X-COM and the rest but none of the time I spent with those games really felt like I was enriched by the experience. Except maybe a little bit X-COM but that's because there hasn't been a really good tactics game in a while after Fire Emblem and Advance Wars.

Black Ops 2 didn't get much didn't expect much and multiplayer sucked because of the really bad lag comp.

Pokemon: meh this time around... unbelievable.

Torchlight 2: too bland and in reality, Diablo 3 had what Torchlight 2 was missing and Torchlight 2 had what Diablo 3 was missing.

Bastion: was fun but very very short... I feel they should have a sequel to that one actually.

MMoRPG wise:

Blade & Soul - Looks entertaining but nothing captivating yet

Tera - got bored fast

Dota 2 - Still in beta so It's still pending
