Wait was that suppose to be satire, because in the description it is a "satirical news show." If it was suppose to be satire, what fail.

Sigh... The true reason I hate this movie, and cannot simply ignore it, is because "Americans like thier big dumb Hollywood films", and continue to shell out big bucks, instead of insisting their big action movies come with a story...

ProtoEva you really shouldn't pay attention to this summer's movies. Carlyle said it best when he wrote about how this summer many films are tragic failures because of the writers strike. Transformers is just another example of that.

Look at last year and how many of the action films satisfied the public and were full of great plot and story! The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Cloverfield, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy 2...

Hollywood really did wise up a bit and last year was proof, but then the writers wanted more. They got it but as a result our entertainment went down the tubes. This year has been filled with failure after failure after failure as a result.

The only film that didn't suffer majorly and was a huge blockbuster and critical success was Star Trek and that's because it was written before the strike.

It's a well documented fact that Michael Bay started putting together the action set pieces and visual effects before the movie's story was even written and it was the people's demand for a sequel so quickly that really ruined it. Just another year of story development and we would have had a great film on our hands, or maybe even two.

The film seemed to be split in half already so if they had just put more time into it, and let the script really gestate it could have been a winter and summer blockbuster series.

This is why Harry Potter and District 13 are probably going to be the last good films of the summer. They're the only ones that were taken care of before hand. Harry Potter, like Star Trek was meant for a x-mas release in 2008 and was delayed so the summer movie schedule could be padded out with less horse shit. District 13 looks like it's going to be the cloverfield of this year, just a huge success in Sci-Fi.

I don't buy the writer argument on the basis, that making a movie with with out writers is difficult, but once the core outline is delivered, most directors would have been able to fly solo, and still produce something worth while. ROTF is a naked interpretation of what Bay will do when he has no guidance, and is left to only his own devices, as the plot of the movie still very much resembles the outline given. My mind boggles at what we could have recived with $200 million, the core plot, and some one else in the directors chair.

"Say what you will about the man, but he knows story structure!"

Aren't you supposed to be a really good creative writer Kent? Since you're a successful and wealthy magnate, why don't you try your hand at pulling Hollywood out of it's trenches.

You can do it! I'm countin' on ya buddy! After all, you're also a blogger, a photographer, a journalist, a DJ, a cardiovascular surgeon, an orphan, an actor, a radio-show host, along with 30 other things.

Put your talents to use!
