ObjectiveCyd posted a blog postthis is one of those things that i wouldn't really expect to be a heated debate but in my personal experience i have noticed that kinda sets people off or exposes the preconceived notions of other people that play games. the reason that i bring this up is that i was goofing around in Fable III and all the characters i have are female, i was in someone else's albion and i had my mic in and the dude that was on the other end could hear me and asked if i was a dude. i responded "yes" and i heard one of his friends in the background say "oh he must be gay". i'm thinking to myself what the fuck does that have to do with anything? it's a damn video game, why does there appear to be some sort of brocedure about playing a certain type of character in game? so the dude asked why i was playing a female character in the game and i rolled out a short list of reasons why i did and it goes as follows
1) she does what i tell her to:
this should be pretty self explanatory, but i have a direct feed into this broad's head and she reacts how i say, says what i tell her to, wears what i say with no disagreement
2) boobs and vagina:
i have a habit when i'm playing games (RPGs especially) that when i reach a certain level or amount of power that i take off most of my character's armor in order to make things a little more challenging and when i do this i don't want to stare at another man's ass. i also do this being that i might be in for the long haul with this game, maybe 40+ hours and don't want to look at a man that long. women a fucking awesome
3) everyone online assumes that you're a chick:
i have learned that one sure-fire way to damage a simple minded man's ego is have him think that you are a woman and defeat him while playing with the visage of a woman, being that most people online are racist, misogynistic, insecure cocktards it's pretty damn good source of entertainment while entertaining yourself. not only that if you're playing a female character there's bound to be one lonely ass dipshit who is gonna try to get with you without asking that all important question "are you actually a chick?", when you don't respond or do it damages the ego fucking with their skills for a short period and you probably have a better chance at beating them afterwards
that's my current list of reasons but if there's anyone else that does this or does so in the inverse, has any other reasons they would like to add to this list or anything else to say about the matter i would love to hear from you.....

I do this too (in Dark Soul) but i dont strip them naked.. most RPG/MMO has equipments that give little to no stats, so there's no reason for you to strip them naked unless you want to see something else.
Permalink Reply by Patrick Hollowell on December 14, 2012 at 1:11pm i agree to a certain point but i usually only roll with rare items and the things i've crafted and sell everything else so i usually find it easier in most cases to just unequip armor instead of having something else to equip. i am an absolute loot whore so i usually do this just so i can make room for more shit to sell
Permalink Reply by Gift of the Magi on December 19, 2012 at 7:35am Since I play a lot of MMORPGs, I don't often do female characters...and for two reasons:
The first: For your Reason #3 above. It is VERY common for online players to think female avatar = female IRL. You get hit on, suggested to, white-knighted a lot and some want to start romance angles with you out of the blue. Doesn't sound bad to you? Well, once they realize you ARE male, those same helpful souls turn into pricks. You'll get a shitton of gay-hate, insults and on a few occasions got death threats...ones bad enough I had to report them.
The second: I do not make characters unless I have a story and personality in mind. No matter what the MMORPG, Computer 'Adventure Game' or P&P RPG, I don't make throw-away characters. Everyone I make has to feel and breathe to me. Unfortunately, I rarely have a decent female character idea I feel good enough to play. I don't want super-bimbos or 3D pin-ups so I can stare at CGI ass all day...I prefer the real thing, thank you.
Permalink Reply by Patrick Hollowell on March 13, 2013 at 3:30pm that i understand fully, i do it to get all those unrealistic things i can't have. can't walk up to my lady and be like "hey baby, can you do me a favor? can you strip down to nothin but some pasties, thigh high heels and a g-string, take these guns and wage a war against street gangs for my amusement?" lol

I tried using a female character once and in-game you could feel some sort of preference. Some offered to let you join their party or guild. Some would follow you while you were killing monsters. Not to mention that you got some free stuff too.
Permalink Reply by Dialtribe on March 13, 2013 at 5:32pm I will often choose female characters because I like the designs of the clothing and armor for them. I'm not not talking about the sexy armor, I mean heavy armor that doesn't show a lot of cleavage or whatever. I think the designers put more flair into female clothing and armor designs than their male counterparts.
