martin fry posted a statusJust a little back-story to this question. 'My friend Jenny she is 22 and we've been best friends since I was 8 and she was engaged since September and suddenly he revealed he had cheated on her on New Years Eve and with multiple women so for three days I've been nursing my best friend to step out of her apartment while he is out enjoying life.'
I'm not saying that only men cheat cause women cheat and some out of spite which I find ridiculous. So here is my question why do people cheat? Are you one of those type of people and have you ever cheated on your spouse and if so, why?

Permalink Reply by Brian Puff on January 2, 2012 at 11:31am there's alot of different reasons why people cheat. I don't have a spouse so I can't cheat on one but i'll list couple of the reasons
1. Dissatisfied with the person for some reason
2. Revenge
3. Sexual addiction (this is a real issue so ppl don't bump this off)
4. Low self-esteem
5. Financial issues...
There's like hundreds of different reasons why people cheat. It's wrong, but it happens.

Permalink Reply by Clearsky38 on January 4, 2012 at 8:58pm Why would someone cheat because of financial issues? Also the low self-esteem I never quite understood (I know people that used this reason) I just was wondering how that factors in.
Permalink Reply by SLAPJAW on January 5, 2012 at 6:31pm Pretty good list. Some people also enter relationships for the wrong reasons and end up getting stuck in them for various reasons. Financial issues certainly contribute to this as well. I'm here to tell you that I'm married and finances are a HUGE stress on a marriage. People would be surprised at how much stress this causes, especially when you have kids added to the mix. I also agree with the sexual addiction part. This absolutely is a real issue. I happen to personally know someone who repeatedly does this to women he enters into relationships with and he just can't seem to stop despite knowing that it's wrong. Sorry for the extended response. Again, good list.

1. Afraid of commitment
2. Sex
3. Spouse was an asshole
4. In hopes of getting on the maury show or jerry springer
5. Because that person was drunk.
Permalink Reply by Cambo on January 2, 2012 at 6:42pm Being Drunk is not an excuse, although people do like to use it.
Permalink Reply by Jason Straub on January 3, 2012 at 12:54am Yeah. I feel like people often use alcohol as an excuse to do something they already wanted to do. It's not the alcohol's fault you did what you did, but it's a convenient rationalization to explain what you did down the road.
