WHO WOULD YOU CONSIDERED TO BE THE BEST HEAVY METAL DRUMMER??

My 1st selection would have to be "DAVE LOMBARDO" from "SLAYER". Let me hear yours?

Yeah, sorry for realizing that The Who was an incredibly influential band and Keith Moon was a great drummer.

Thanks for not burning me at the "steak". I've always enjoyed mine medium rare...

Now let's all go back to being spoon-fed by VH1 and their list shows...
Damn you Viacom!!!!
Mmmmmm, steak.................

I never said the Who wasn't an influential band. I just feel Rush and Sabbath had a bigger influence on the genre than The Who did.
Rush? Seriously?

Black Sabbath was more metal in it's first album than Rush has ever been to this day
Man, this is what I get for my controversial views on music.
Vinnie Appice from Black Sabbath/Dio,
Scott Travis from Judas Priest,
Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden.
Charlie Benante from Anthrax.
Dave Lombardo from Slayer.

As for favorites drummers in general:
Neil Peart from Rush,
Keith Moon from The Who,
and John Bonham from Led Zeppelin.

I'm sorry for the mistake from earlier.
I can't believe that no one's mentioned Chris Adler from Lamb of God.
Ooo good one

What about George Kollias from Nile or Brann Dailor from Mastodon
I might have said Chris Adler if this was a Metalcore thread :/

Metalcore != Heavy Metal

Anyway, I suppose I should contribute to the thread before the shitstorm commences.

I would say: George Kollias from Nile
Tomás Corn from Lykathea Aflame (Lykathe)
Flo Mounier from Cryptopsy... poor Cryptopsy - their old stuff was so awesome, then they threw it all away for some mainstream success...
Fuck yes!!
FUCK! This is a tough one! Hmmmm, I can't decide if it's Ernie.

Or Animal!

Damn they're both so brutal.
Ernie doesn't fuck around, but take a look at the name on that God damned bass drum.

DR. TEETH.

Plus... fire....

Animal all the fucking way.
