I have to somewhat disagree with hendrix being most talented. The guy is in my top 3 favorite, but it was for his feeling of the guitar not his skill. Listen to Stevie ray vaughn, and it's hendrix but cleaner, HOWEVER, hendrix had the soul. Hendrix created the machine gun, dive bombs, and overall beautiful chaos that was his sound.
I'm going to have to second John Petrucci, who is not only fast AND accurate, but can also write solos that are extremely tasteful and sometimes slower and more melodic. But Dream Theater are like, my absolute favourite band in the whole world so thats a bit of a biased opinion coming from me.
