I guess you are right. I was trying way to hard.
Permalink Reply by The Gaming King on February 7, 2012 at 7:29pm Dude. You're trying way too hard. It's pretty obvious.
Permalink Reply by TheLizardhead on February 7, 2012 at 8:44pm I know. I already admitted that yesterday.
Permalink Reply by Id0ntknow on February 6, 2012 at 10:23pm Way to rip off the discussion I've been having in What are you Reading.
Congrats sir, congrats.
And Hunger Games is a blatant rip off.
Kids fighting eachother to the death as a way of a totalitarian government to show how much control they have. Two love struck teens find a way to escape the game alive. Etc etc. She can say she never read/saw Battle Royale all she wants, she's full of shit.
And even Battle Royale was a borrowed heavily from Lord of the Flies and The Running Man(later pointed out by Cupcake).
As to which I prefer? I don't know... Battle Royale is certainly better in the description department, but so fucking dense it becomes work to finish at parts.
Hunger Games is overly simplified, and the love triangle retarded as hell. That said, far easier to read. I'd rather reread Hunger Games just for the easiness. Even if Battle Royale is better.

Permalink Reply by Id0ntknow on February 6, 2012 at 11:09pm I don't know that I would say The Most Dangerous Game.
Granted, man being hunted and such. But it lacks the governmental control element that is so heavy in the afore mentioned books.
I'll be honest, not sure I know the others. Research needed.

Permalink Reply by Id0ntknow on February 9, 2012 at 8:44pm Okay, I retract half of what I said.
I'm on the third Hunger Games. It... it... they shoot planes, oh wait sorry "Hovercraft", down with bow and arrow. Really, that's all I feel I have to say.
However, they go on to explain they have no high flying planes because the tech was lost. Really? You have hover craft and force fields, but fuck, gettin a plane in the air is hard guis!
I can't express the hatred I now feel for the author.
