What's so bad about torture porn types of movies?

It's just getting boring. The last good torture porn I saw was The Collector. It took all the good element's of a horror, and applied them to the torture porn genre. I don't mind torture porn, but I don't like it when they just use the gorn as an excuse to make a movie. I like it when they apply good stories to disgusting situations.

Yes. That's exactly what simply watching a movie means. Damn sickos.

Or maybe it's just a fucking movie, and if they watched videos of real torture and killing, they'd probably be disgusted because there's a huge difference between film violence and real violence.

There's no basis to take a moral high-ground here.

look, i don't like seeing someone getting tortured on movie... but saying that makes you a fucking ignorant. some of these movies have a story and are maybe more complicated than you would think. sure there are always bad movies and sequels but you really can't stop yourself at that and judge people calling these movies stupid if you don't watch them

''goood complicated stories''?Did you even see Saw 1?Did you even notice how f**ed up the storyline is in that movie?

And by the way I saw all of the Saw movies wich are stupid.This next one I won't watch though since it will be literaly the same thing.And Hostel was just Pathetic.Europe is not the same thing as the US.And Slovakia is not Somalia.

Plus if Skull-Masked Mike posted this I am free to say whatever I want if it's related to torture porn.This isn't a commie or a nazi site.

no i didn't see saw so i can't know what is this movie like.

like i said i haven't seen a lot. i've seen Embodiment of Evil which i think can be considered Torture Porn (and maybe a little slasher... but the murders in this are really graphic and they take time to die... man, this movie was hard to watch.) and Inside (even thought that one is more of a slasher, but the killing parts are really graphic... especially the last one)

of course it's not a commie or a nazi site but because the saw series is fucking dumb or the hostel movies suck (supposedly [not sure if that word exists lol] because i haven't seen them) it doesn't means that ALL movies that uses torture and gore to shock the audience are bad and stupid.

I have to dissagree on the last part since all those torture porn are the same.Just like all the Friday movies are identical to the Halloween movies(except for the 1st halloween).The acting is bad, there is allways one hot blonde that dies in a grose way and the storyline is just ''a group of young people go Somewhere and get butchered''

Well yeah the original premise is the same, but a lot of movies (right now i'm talking about the slashers since you brought it up) have great character development, Ginger Snaps, The Descent, Inside, etc. and a really interesting story.

Ah, but there you mentioned the difference as well.

Friday the 13th, Nightmare, Halloween, etc are all series that use the same plot over and over til they parody themselves.

Ginger Snaps was not bad for the first film...but there is a reason the second and subsequent films were straight-to-DVD.

Both Saw and Hostel have moved well past any plot or story they're trying to tell, in order to bring you more blood and more gore and more ridiculious ways to kill people. Add in the lack of decent acting in all those films and the lack of any drama built up leads to Saw becoming this generations' Friday the 13th.

Can't wait til Saw X:In Space!

Saw isn't torture porn.

Well, the first one at least. It wasn't that freaking gory. The worst thing in the movie was the doctor slicing his foot off, and that shot was only one second long.

Haven't seen any of the others.

There boring and it's plain just unscary but infact sickening that people could think this sick shit up and write it down and use it as a plot in a film.
