Ok, so I read a couple articles because my mind wanders sometimes. I came up some articles of penis cancer.. Yeah,it can happen and it scared the hell out of me.. I mean what would you actually do IF it came to that..

From what I understand my great grandfather had it and they had to cut a part out..WTF? Cut part off? Wow.. I'd hate for that to happen to me. I mean I'd look like someone took a bite out of my Nestle Crunch bar..

I mean it's all joke but it can actually happen. Here are some of the facts can influence it:

Being age 60 or older.

Having phimosis (a condition in which the foreskin of the penis cannot be pulled back over the glans).

Having poor personal hygiene.

Having many sexual partners.

Using tobacco products.

Ok, so what would YOU do if you had to lose your soldier? I'm curious.

This is a pretty serious topic.

No BS here: I am a surgical nurse. I have seen some terrible injuries or infections that required a penectomy. Believe it or not, men have signed a consent form to amputate their penis in order to save their own lives. Life itself seems to outweigh a penis.

I have also seen a few penis reconstructions. These were all for cosmetic and urinary purposes. In other words, the reconstructed penis looked pretty normal, and the man could again urinate standing up. They did not have normal erections with these reconstructions. One man had an implantable pump, which actually gave him a lot a trouble and had to be removed. I have read that some reconstructions include a rod implant so that the reconstructed penis is always firm enough for intercourse, but the sensation problem had not been completely resolved back when I was doing full-time trauma surgery.

Surgical techniques are always advancing, though. My observations are about five years old now, so there is no telling what advances are being made.
If I go down like this: INSTALL THE PUMP...please......
Has anyone ever refused to sign?
Not in my experience. Most of my experience has been in trauma (car wrecks, boat propellers, trains, knife & gun club, and a few psychiatric self-mutilations). And some of the consents had to be signed by a parent or partner, because the patient was unconscious and in critical condition. Like I said, in an immediate life or death scenario, everyone I have had experience with chose life over a penis.

But again -- i am always in awe of the reconstructive surgeons and the new techniques that they are always developing. They may have some new tricks up their sleeve.

Of course, prevention, self-exam, & early treatment, are key.

Take care of yourselves, fellas!
Self Exam you say? no problem

I rock my junk like a video game
Because I love my penis what should I look for in the self-exam?
Google "TSE" or "testicular self-exam" for details, but in general, see a doctor/urologist if you notice shrinking or enlargement of a testicle, pain,or lump in your testicles or on your penis, or anything that just doesn't seem like the norm for your set.
Thank Rhea "Now I know..."
So guys, just like we ladies should do our self exams, PLEASE check your business once a month. And take any concerns to a doctor. A urologist is the specialist you would want to see.

Lots of websites on this. Here's just one linked from medline and the NIH:

At least that could be put back on
That's a Tyler Durden line, right?
lol
