I read about the Buffy remake here on Spill and noticed, there's a lot of Buffy fans here, so I'wondering what show do you like more, Buffy or Angel?
I say Angel, just due to it being more fun and not always dragging out the idea that women are better than men in every way possible, it's cool if they think that but just make a cool show and put your manifesto in sparsely and not almost every epidode. But I have to say Buffy's Hush episode is one of my favorite hours of television.
I think it had to end like that. There was no other way. From Episode 1, S1 we're told that W&M are going to be Angel's main eneimes. And through all five seasons they are.And it works too. So, yeah. The showdown at the end was such a fitting way to end it.
I have to say though. I never understood why W&M wanted Angelus on there side. They've been around for centuries, and have Angel/Angelus's record. So how did tey think they could get him on their side?
Your idea for the Jasmine story is a lot better than what actually occured.
The finale was great to me as soon as it ended I watched it again and then a third time the next day. I didn't care about not seeing that fight with the dragon and the demon hordes, that fight between Angel, Connor and Adam Baldwin (that indestructable lawyer who played Jayne in Firefly) was great and Lorne's final role in the series was sad and fitting.
And the thing with Wolfram and Hart I think that Angel's part in the apocalypse wasn't defined so they figured they could manipulate him over to the dark side but you're right they should have known Angel was too noble and Angelus was too unpredictable to control.
At the end of the day I'm glad we didn't see the fight. The fight in my head is all I need, you know? Season five was pretty ballsy too. Killing off three main characters in one season? Damn. And good point on Lorne by the way. That was a sad day hearing about Andy Hallett passing.
I only like the official "After the fall" stuff That is how Angel ends for me. it's about 20 issues with 2 special issues. It picks up a few months after the alley fight. Wolfram & Hart sent L.A. to hell and you try to figure out what happened and where everyone is. The continued with Aftermath because after the fall was popular but aftermath doesn't do anything for me. The Buffy season eight comic has some really good issues and some ok issues.
Ok. Cool, thanks. I remember kind of rolling my eyes upon hearing this news of both a Buffy and Angel comic continuece as it were. Angel more so. In my mind, the alley fight is the end. But maybe now, i'd willing to read about life after the Angel TV series.
Buffy doesn't intrest as me as much, and I should point out that I loved the first 3 seasons of Buffy. Bu really when Angel pissed off to LA and we got to follow those adventures. That just seemed more intresting.
The thing for Buffy too was the Mayor of Sunnydale. Perfectly played by Harry Groener, Richard WilkinsIII should have been the last true villian Buffy faced. They should have teased him the way W&M's Senior Partners were, and kept the story going through each season.
I just thought I'd thorw that in. I hadn't really touched on that show. Top notch the first three seasons. Gradually losses steam season 4 onwards.
I highly recommend After hte Fall as for Buffy the show should have ended with her dieing off the building. But The 8th season comic has some truly good moments but over all After the fall gave me the closure I felt the show needed on a scale I wish it could have been filmed.
