I find Rob Zombie to be a very interesting director at times, But his remake of Halloween was ok. The problem that i had with it is that he developed a back story for a character (Michael Myers) that was not need. Carpenter has said many times that Myers is a stand in for Evil. But it is hard to picture a person as pure evil if you have seen them be shit head little brat.
The point i'm trying to get is what if Zombie had remade something else. Something where the back story was important like say Friday the 13th.
To me this would have been much more suiting as Friday franchise has always been a simple cash grab and could use some original input and stronger character development
he'd just ruin another film that someone else made

saying that
i had no probs with the first remake
the second made me wish he hadn't made the first in the place
Is it? it's all ready been remade and that remake was about as original as you can get without it being a perfect copy of the original film. So what new thing is there that he can bring to the table is there?
It's the same reason I know that The Thing Remake/Prequel/whatever is going to suck the big one, mainly because every good thing that can be done with that franchise already has been done.

Lack of scene composition, inability to get a good performance out of actors, stuck in horror movies (Which any hack can direct because it's always about the gore/blood not the characters), shitty eye for camera positions, inability to tell a good script from a bad script, concentrates on just the "shock-value" and always wants to put things in the 70's or pay "homage to the 70's" when most of his fan-base weren't even BORN (Most likely even conceived) in the 70's so have no connection other than "Oh, look at those clothes".
Yeah, Zombie has plenty of things to work on before I would even come close to calling him a "Hack Director". As far as I'm concerned, he's nothing more than just some dude with a camera that is getting paid because of his name. A name that was earned trying to make MUSIC years ago, before his ego killed the White Zombie band.

The Blob wasn't about violent killings it was Rebel without a cause if a monster stepped into it.It's about the kids and their relationships with eachother, parents, police. The monster was a Macguffin.
But I don't think he understands that.
And after the "homage" filled shit that was Superbesto I'm sick of this guy
