If it's crap... We'll tell you

Well, thanks to The Don the Shogun of Spill's clearly Nazi like ways of censoring different opinions, he's going to miss out on this moment.

It's been pointed out to me that maybe my feelings are slightly misguided regarding the handling of Gordon's role in Batman's actions. I have concluded that my personal experience with Paralegal work has made something like Gordon's role jump out in my face and just scream of "Mishandling" by the writers.

Here's the points that I'm willing to concede.

IF instead of physically SEEING Batman do something at a crime scene, or in the interrogation room Gordon was busy working on paperwork, or had his back turned talking to another Officer when Batman physically DID something like remove the wall, or enter the room... then NO, I wouldn't have a problem with that and it would make sense. Gordon didn't PHYSICALLY see Batman do something illegal, and therefore didn't try to stop him. It's clear that this point is conceded based solely on the way that the character was filmed. Had he been in a situation to NOT actually SEE Batman doing something, I would be fine with that point.

The second point I will concede....

Morgan Freeman's character of Lucius Fox SHOULD have been given more screen time in order to flesh him out a little more. Possibly showing more than just ONE example of him saying "NO" to Batman/Bruce demands would have shown that he isn't as poorly executed as I originally thought. Instead, it's just that he doesn't receive enough screen time to show different aspects of his character. How to fix the problem? I don't know... but the solution would definitely involve more screen time and an ability to flesh the character out more than he has been so far.

So, there you go The Don The Shougon of Spill. While you were so happy to clearly present yourself as a Neo-Nazi unwilling to partake in a friendly discussion with someone of different opinions, your fellow Spill.com members were clearly happy to discuss the differences with me. While we agreed that they ARE personal opinions and personal reactions to a character. BOTH these problems would have been easily fixed with a minor adjustment done in writing.

So, next time your Pus-filled brain starts to have a hissy-fit over the fact that someone disagrees with you, try opening a friendly and intelligent discussion. Who knows, maybe if you get your dick out of your ass, and your nose out of Nolan's scrotum you'll find some way to come to an agreement with someone instead of just trying to Censor them.... you fucking Hitler want to be Nazi.

Alright then, now i see the point you were trying to make about Morgan Freeman's character, and you're right, an actor like Freeman deserves a bigger role. However, the problem with fleshing out his role would involve making this very long movie even longer...

In regards to Gordon's character, i know as a legal professional that what he was doing was CLEARLY illegal, however I knew those moments in the film between Batman and the commissioner were taken right from the comic books, so I let that slide. This probably could never happen in our world, but then again I have never taken anything I've seen in movies to be real or for that matter plausible

Too bad we don't have tug-o-war, since that's how two rival camps settle disputes. Despite people's qualms with the movie, I loved TDK for what it was. Am I bummed it didn't get nominated? Yeah...to an extent. I mean, it was critically acclaimed, given Spill's "Better Than Sex" rating, has 94% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes from critics who saw it, and has won its fair share of awards. But movies like Gran Torino, The Wrestler, and Wall*E all deserved the fifth slot in nominations just as much, if not more, than The Dark Knight. The Reader, which by the way did anyone even see it?, just doesn't compare at all. It was a limited release, and only 60% Fresh barely on Rotten Tomatoes, which is pretty low for an Oscar nominated movie. Most have at the very least 85%.

I'm not trying to say TDK was entitled to anything, but The Academy could have picked a better movie in place of it than an obscure drama movie. I would have been happy if the Academy snubbed TDK in favor of The Wrestler or Gran Torino. But The Reader? I call "Shenanigans" there. And I know fanboys will lose their shit over this, but you should take people's advice and expand your horizons a little. Go see Slumdog Millionaire or Frost/Nixon. If you think The Dark Knight is THE best, and haven't seen other movies, you are missing the point that everyone here was trying to make: there were other great movies to see in 2008. Even I know that, and I love Nolan's Batman franchise.

I don't know either, Supes. It's like talking to a brick wall. I try to be the rational one, and I get nothing.

Oh well, indeed.
