Ebert and Roeper are gone from At the Movies, and in their place we have Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz. Personally, I hate their guts already. I don't mean to be a hater, but these guys are two of the most pretentious snobs I've ever seen. I do so miss Siskel & Ebert. But don't mind me, what do you guys think?
I fucking hate those douchebags. The one with the goatee recommended Beverly Hills Chihuahua. And the other retard said hated Soul Men because it had bad language. Why did they have to pick these people? They could of chose the guest reviewers who came on the show like, Michael Phillips and A.O Scott.
I come to Spill because its REAL people reviewing movies not snobby critics.
I don't mind Mankiewicz too much, but I had already gotten used to him being a guest host on TCM. However, prior to his rather abrupt appearance on At The Movies I had never even heard of Lyons. And, so far he hasn't impressed at all. In fact, I find him to be extremely grating. (Also known as, annoying as fuck.)
Honestly though, since Roger's unfortunate departure from the show I hadn't really watched it all that much anyway.
When you consider how many movies any major critic has to watch, a 1/100 ratio really isn't that bad.
Especially when the critic is an academic who picks apart every scene in a movie and then goes over it with a fine-tooth comb, which Siskel often did.
His pretentious over-analysis is still far better than the microwavable soundbite bullshit that Lyons, Mankiewicz, and just about every other big critic spew up every time they're "reviewing" a movie.
I often found myself completely disagreeing with most of Siskel's opinions, but then, they were his opinions.
is Oprah Evil and how describe how she is give an example or something along those lines.
include pieces from the root of all evil if you want but i do want to see some new ideas
The Co-Host and I got a little loopy with this recording as we guzzled down a six pack of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. So sit back and enjoy our drunken ramblings about The hippie store down the street, the popularity of podcasts, the Spill party…

Instead of opening with a descriptive intro, I've decided I'm going to jump right into the review. Honestly, I found this movie, Brothers, to be very unsettling, solely because of Toby Maguire's performance. One thing about it that gives the mov…
