What do you think of Cartoon Network now?

I have been furious at cartoon network for years, until Chowder came out. I thought it was great and it became my favorite cartoon on TV. Followed by Flapjack the year after, which was great as well, and Total Drama Island, which has grown on me significantly. For me, it seems like Cartoon Network has been making a comeback. Then again, even remotely interesting shows would be an improvement over Camp Lazlo and My Gym Partners a Monkey...

Now that my opinions up, what do you think?

Permalink Reply by BlackMagic on August 28, 2009 at 2:47pm: I think Cartoon Network went downhill at the end of the 90s/early 2000s when they stopped showing classic cartoons and tried to revamp Toonami again, as well as churning out a new animated cartoon almost every month or week. Now that they've crossed into the realm of reality shows, I don't believe it can have a comeback.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by AdventChild on August 28, 2009 at 5:36pm: CN has been scrapping the bottom of the sh*t barrel ever since they shown crappy toons like Gym Partner and Camp Lazlo and stopped showing the good stuff like Dexter, Megas XLR, Johnny Bravo, etc. Afterward, they shot themselves in the @$$ and foot by creating the abomination called Reanimated and OoJH, showing live action movies (seriously, Son of the Mask? *regurgitates), canceling Toonami, and start loosing their identity more by adding idiotic and kiddified rip-off reality shows AKA CN Real.

The formula has become clear:

Plus, if you look at Toonami in the final years: One Piece, Naruto, Zach Bell, Bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo, And pushing DBZ into the late night timeslot before Futurama. It sucked by that point anyway.; ▶ Reply to This

Also, even though it is late night, Toonami is better than watching boring live-action reality sh*t on Saturday nights. Even w/ a late time-slot, it'll be worth watching action cartoons and anime when CN is in the poor state its in.; ▶ Reply to This

Also, back then they were still showing old toons (which CN is also doing now) as well as keeping Toonami which had good shows as well.

Even though there maybe not much difference in the level of crappiness, Crappy toons >>> Crappy live action reality shows. Yes, the CN years from 05-06 were the decline of CN w/ awful cartoons, but realize that today CN is far worst, and lost its identity by showing live action sh*t nobody tends to care about. Not to mention the soon canceling of Chowder (and Flapjack?) would be one of the idiotic mistakes it'll ever do. Unless CN will try to show good stuff in the future, 05-06 beats 09 by quality and content.; ▶ Reply to This
