If it's crap ... We'll tell you
PresidentEvil posted a statusIts probably the best series I have ever watched on television IMO. Ive seen the wire, the sopranos, dexter, mad men etc. but I would honestly say its above most of them for me or at least tied with the sopranos and the wire. The acting, cinematography, suspense and character study is pretty amazing. Anyone watch it here? Surpise their wasn't a topic on it, two more episodes of season 4 left and I have no idea whats going to happen, its predictable at being creatively unpredicatable.
Heres a video of the show to give you a good idea of what it is about, if you have never seen it before (clips from the first three seasons):

Permalink Reply by Doctor Orpheus on October 4, 2011 at 10:39pm I've watched the first episode four times now and I still can't find myself liking it enough to give that second episode a try. I've heard it's sort of like how Lost was where you have to watch a few episodes before the whole effect of the show kicks in and you're hooked.
I have to admit though, there are a few parts in that first episode that make me want to give this series a fifth try.
Permalink Reply by Doctor Orpheus on October 7, 2011 at 12:36am Maybe instead of trying to shame me into thinking like you and telling me that my particular methods for watching a show are weird you could actually tell me why I should give a damn about watching it?
When I start watching a show, I like to have a sense of completeness to what I'm doing so I start from the first episode. It's not like I watched the first episode four times in a row and then decided it wasn't worth watching, I watched it four separate times over the course of about a year or so as I kept on trying to give the series a chance.
After my original posting, and before your mildly rude comment here, I decided to go back and start trying to watch the series again (don't worry, I started in on the second episode first) and my original assessment still stands, it's 80% of the average drama you get from a T.V. series like this and then 20% where they do something that REALLY grabs my attention.
I'm not giving up on this series, but I can't see adding it to the roster of shows I'm already following because it hasn't provided me with enough entertainment for me yet to justify me spending the time catching up on it when I have over half a dozen other shows that I can catch up on that have already proven themselves to be well worth watching.
Don't be butthurt man with your wall of text, I sure didn't mean to insult ya dude. Its cool thats how you watch tv. Viewing tv shows in your perspective I would say Game Of Thrones, The sopranos, spartacus, and even the wire were just average dramas with 20% that grabs your attention from just there pilots.
But hey I would flaunt about its amazing acting, cinematography, and unpredictable excellent writing but you watch "doctor who" so I can't take you seriously.... loltrolol
Permalink Reply by Doctor Orpheus on October 7, 2011 at 8:30pm As I said before, I'm not giving up on the show, despite what I'm starting to think about it when I'm forced to interact with fans such as yourself. For someone who supposedly loves this series, you don't seem that intent on selling it to me. You'd rather insult me because can't come up with a convincing argument why I should continue watching the show.
Or maybe I'm wrong and you're right and my taste preferences can't be taken "seriously" and I'm just some sort of ignorant sap you doesn't know what "good" television is, either way I'm done arguing with you.
