That's because my theatre's corporate HQ told the studio "NO! Your movie is shit, and we won't be showing it." So at least one nation-wide corporate theatre chain is helping that. :)
The people that made those assumptions did not know two shits about what they were talking about, and were just giving us the same movie critic hype they are paid to do.
For me to listen to someone over the age of 30 about if this movie will be good is as crazy as my little sister taking my advice on the new Hannah Montana movie.

Most analysts were completely and utterly wrong and it would seem that they grounded their predictions on nothing if they thought otherwise, because there is no reason to think this movie would do well since it looks like complete ass. Even we, the common folk on spill ALL (except for ultrakid and king sexy) could see that.
They probably assumed that the DB fanbase would be eager to see it. Of course, it goes without saying that the DB fanboys are the ones who seem to hate it, most of all.
