As you people already watch Watchmen and The Dark Knight and these two films don't just rely on that old standby -- being "dark" and "edgy" -- they also take their subject matter into truly adult territory, not just in terms of sex and violence (as in Watchmen in particular) but also in theme. The superhero movie has grown up this past year, and it's Snyder and Christopher Nolan who we can thank for that.
So tell me which one is better and why ?
'Dark Knight' (the comic) loses to 'Watchmen' (the comic) because 'Watchmen' is better written, more universal, and the comic has aged better than 'Dark Knight' remaining more relevant.
NOW,
'Dark Knight' (the movie) beats the ever-loving shit out of 'Watchmen' (the movie) because it just was better done. 'Wachmen' hit a good portion of the notes from the comic, sadly almost all of them were off-key, leaving the movie kind of flat. 'Dark Knight' made you feel like you were part of the movies world, 'Watchmen' was just looking into a world. all the subtle complexity has been stripped from the original story to make 'Watchmen' while 'Dark Knight' works on so many levels, it's just scary! Had they managed to make all that 'Watchmen' (the comic) into 'Watchmen' (the movie) then it would have been a better film than 'Dark Knight', but it just doesn't and isn't.
For the record, I didn't hate the film version of 'Watchmen', I thought it was okay, but to think for a second that that it is an equal or better film than 'Dark Knight' is to be as crazy as the Joker himself!
I was referring to 'The Dark Knight Returns' by Frank Miller. Both GNs are usually lumped together and compared/contrasted because of when they came out and how they shifted the super-hero genre towards more complex story-lines and a more mature tone. I mention it for two reasons:
1. As crazy as Frank Miller is now, he still wrote the definitive Batman story. Everybody working on the Batman today (including Nolan) pulls from Miller's work either in 'TDK' or 'Batman:Year One'.
2. I was pointing out the fact that comic nerds for years have been debating 'TDK' vs 'Watchmen' and now years later movie nerds are debating movies with the same names and starring the same characters. It's kind of trippy when you think about it.
Why are people saying that Watchmen is slow? I thought there was plenty of action and that they actually zoomed through all the character flashbacks. Honestly, i wish it was even slower so we could understand the depth of the characters even more, the same way that the gn did
Why bash our movie-loving site based on 1 video review of Transformers, you prick! The man obviously has nothing better to do than harass us over his love of the US & is a hugely biased bigot, & a fucking moron. So please, let's all laugh at him.

The “Princess and the Frog” is a terrific animated film, that unfortunately has arrived a few years too late. This is the type of film Disney’s animation department should have been making instead of junk like “Chicken Little” and “Meet the Robinson…
