I'm hoping for that too. After seeing the stuff in space from the trailers, I expected any city scenes to be either sparklingly futuristic or grimy and Blade Runnerish. It just looked sorta... normal.

That phone was the very first thing I noticed. Not all that space agey. I would have left it as a sorta touch screen on its own. Same with the TV in the hotel room. That window smack was a nice touch. It says to me, we're having a bit of fun so you may as well kick back and do the same. Hopefully it won't be Fifth Element 2. Even though I enjoyed it, we don't need another one.

If they make a second Fifth element I want to see everyone die every ten mintues Aeon flux style and get rebuilt by that machine and die again.

I'm getting that vibe too. But where Russel had a fair bit of cowboy in him Pearce has a certain private school smarm. In a good way.
