I'm going to guess that Instead of Samurai gear the soul reapers will be rocking leather. I hope they try to understand the source material compared to previous adaptations of anime/games.

There's barely been 2 anime adaptions by western studios(DBE and Last airbender but last airbender was american so HA!) and game adaptions have been getting better as long as boll isn't on the title card(Unless it was postal which is JUST LIKE THE GAME).
Also the leather thing makes little sense as no adaption has had a noticable costume change for their characters except for Resident Evil.

what there was only 1 street fighter movie and I'm pretty sure Chun li was wearing her outfit
(That other film is a worse adaption then house of the dead, DBE and Last airbender with how much it changed seriously none of the characters had similar appearances to personalities beside Micheal Clark Duncan as Boxer)

I personally liked Guyver 1(maybe for the wrong reasons) but as a kid growing up I don't remember hearing jack about the guyver films(until I saw them on TV) nor Fist of the north.
And I said "half of those"
Hollywood aren't fucktards as they've given us mutlidues of ground breaking cinema and remakes and adaptions have been around just as long as Hollywood has(The first remake being a 1916 movie of a 1913 movie), and it's only a matter of time before they GET THEM RIGHT and hit the stride of getting more right then wrong. As you said Speed Racer(which is THE biggest actually ACTUALLY made anime adaption) wasn't horrid but wasn't great. So a modern battle manga like bleach has a chance as it isn't as deep as Akira or as emotional as say Oldboy..

Bleach is a very simple battle manga I'd say read about the first 55 chapters ,since it's 20 pages per chapter you can probably breeze through that in a week if you're busy. as that gives you a solid idea of what the story is sorta like going forward(though later on they cut back on comedy and focus more on action).
