Hey everyone! I was curious as to what was the future of Batman in films once The Dark Knight Rises is recently because as I'm sure you all know, this will be Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale's last Batman movie. While looking I saw some info on past films that almost got made after Batman & Robin (1997) and I found some of these ideas pretty interesting. Some of which include
* Batman Triumphant
* Batman: DarKnight
* Batman: Year One
* Batman vs Superman
* Batman Beyond
Of course instead we got Batman Begins which believe me I'm not complaining but now that we'll be starting a brand new continuity with Batman I would love to hear some of you guy's thoughts and opinion as far as what you would like to see in a future film and whether or whether you would have rather have seen one of these previous ideas get made. If you would like to hear some explanation on those ideas and what I think of them, check this out. Thanks again!

Permalink Reply by Gift of the Magi on April 17, 2012 at 6:39pm After DKR, we're going to have to start over....again. Nolan has PROMISED to END the story, and WB has already planned a reboot right after.
So unless they go for yet another Batman from the beginning story (likely), it MIGHT be possible to do Batman Beyond. However, I really doubt it. Not just because BB was weak (it is, and if you doubt me then name ONE memorable villain from it non-fans would recognize), but because the budget would be HUGE for would the studios would see as a risk.
Permalink Reply by Mike Brown on April 17, 2012 at 7:23pm I agree I can't name a villain from Batman Beyond off the top of my head but I did like the villain who has that green skeleton look but of course I can't remember his name and don't want to cheat by wiki lol they could also use lesser known Batman villains like Mad Hatter, Clayface or Killer Crok and just have them for a BB universe

Permalink Reply by Mike Brown on April 18, 2012 at 6:25am I agree, I hated that they did that with Terry and his "Real Father" it just made no sense to me

Yeah, I see what you mean. They took a good story and kinda screw things up just to add the Joker in to the Batman Beyond story line. They should have taken the time to make a new villain. Just to clear things up.
They use Bruce's DNA and as a result Bruce as 2 sons. I'm sure he always knew but never told him until he felt the time was right. Also, I believe that the Batman Beyond Universe is not the future version of the Batman that is from the JLU and the other Bruce Timm projects. DC said that Batman Beyond is set in it's own universe (Earth-12). Just like Young Justice is set in another universe (Earth-16) from the other animated series.
Permalink Reply by Gift of the Magi on April 21, 2012 at 11:56pm Ummm...yeah...did you miss the time-travel episode where Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman go into the future and MEET Terry?? Sorry, but they established BB as the future of the Justice League/Batman TAS/SupermanTAS/Static Shock universe. Of course, none of those shows were ever part of the main universe, as they were based on the stories of the series writers and NOT the originals.
Thus, there will likely NEVER be a Terry McGinnis or an Iron-Man like ninja-Batman suit in a cyberpunk future in the main line, nor a stand-alone film. Why? Because you NEED Batman: TAS to have it make sense. Otherwise, the story WILL NOT WORK. AT ALL.
