most video game movies suck. but if you could take a video game and have a movie made out of it that was good what would that game be?

Baldur's Gate II or Fallout, because these are games with an abundance of characters and a semblance of plot. Maybe a half-decent director could build upon these bones and create a movie with compelling characters and a decent story. That would be a welcome new direction for movies based on video games.
Jon Irenicus is still the best villain to come out of video games. I've yet to see another that comes close.

Irenicus is among my favorite video game villains of all time. But I can't imagine a film doing the game's story justice unless they split it into multiple films, and even then they would likely have to axe most of the side quest-related events, which had compelling story lines of their own and helped develop the main characters to make them as memorable as they are.
Call me crazy, but I'd actually like to see an Unreal Tournament movie, specifically because it barely has any plot to speak of. If the studio just makes a batshit-insane sci-fi action movie set in that universe, then at least we wouldn't have to listen to fanboys complain about them "not getting it right."

Assasin's Creed could be good. Ubisoft is hard at work making the movie. Making sure its not shitty.
AND, Micheal Fassbender is Starring and Producing.
So it could go either way.

As odd as this sounds, Far Cry 2. Sure the story was just okay, but i'm a sucker for adaptations of Heart of Darkness, and the whole premise, concept, gritty tone, and the lawless yet breathtaking african setting is cinema worthy.

I'd love to see Metroid, even though I don't play the games.
Ever since I saw the live action trailer for, I think, Metroid Prime or something, I always wanted to see Metroid turned into a movie.
