I saw on IMDB that the new V series will only be four episodes and then go off the air until March or April and then come back for the rest of season one's run. Anybody know if this is true or not? If so I don't know why they would do that. It's like they're pulling a FOX and setting up the series for failure. Any thoughts on this?
V is a mini-series. There will be no season one, season two, etc. Four episodes will air throughout the month, the mini-series will conclude in the spring. I don't know why they've done this, as Kings suffered a similar fate and never got a chance to show people how good it was. The pilot was good, and I think that people will be intrigued by the series, but will likely lose interest in the Spring when it returns, since shows like 24 and Lost will be in full swing on their final seasons at that time.
like Daniel I thought it was just going to be a mini-series. Guess I was wrong but at the same time I'm not digging on how they plan on releasing the season
ABC will air its alien-invasion drama V in two parts starting in November and then continuing after the Olympics in March 2010.
"We're planning to air four episodes in November and end with a cliff-hanger," a rep for the show tells TVGuide.com. In March, the show will resume airing the rest of the original 13-episode order, which has not changed with the new airing schedule. V continues to be on a production hiatus until mid-October, an insider tells TVGuide.com.
At the fall TV previews, Steve McPherson, ABC's entertainment prez, said they were planning a non-traditional way to air the series. "We always intended to break the show up into 'pods' to make it more of an event," the rep adds.
It's an awful way to broadcast the series. I HATE it when networks do this. It happened to Heroes, Lost, so many others. Doing this detracts from the audience in terms of numbers and attention. After a month of action packed episodes, why would we tune back in in March, when Lost and 24 will be in full swing in their final seasons?
NBC did this to Kings, which went almost completely unseen and was actually a quality show. i just think that after over three months off the air, no one will care to tune back in, save the sci-fi loving community like me and probably you guys too.
They didn't have faith. I'm not sure how it's doing now, but it sure as hell started strong. I'd assume it's a decision they're kicking themselves about.
and because of my great Literature teacher, i had to go see a play at 8pm and missed the last episode from the fall -_-
i mean the play was okay, really long but okay, but man i wanted to see that :(
anyone else annoyed with how badly written EVERYTHING was for S01E04?
Especially how the V MD could paralyze his buddy who is sacrificing himself to maintain the MD's cover but NOT give him an anesthesia to kill the pain of being skinned alive?
apparently they have enough technology to cure blindness but never figured out how to numb pain.
