I haven't seen V yet, but it probably is better because it was written by two of the biggest geeks in Hollywood.

Strange, just saw V last night... but anyway, I can't choose one over the other. They're both pretty damn awesome.

I thought V was pretty mediocre.

I thought the lead detectives were miscast. I would have liked to see the military of the British Empire. I wished they went the 1984 route and made this future seem more bleak.

It was too soft.

As for the Dark Knight, good not great. Batman Begins did it better in my opinion, although I eagerly anticipate the 3rd film and personally think they should go the Harley Quinn route.

it would be kickass if they introduced Harley

V told a much better story(Alan Moore). I love a good story a/b revolution, but how ever dark knight was a better movie. The main reason is it had a better director. Chris Nolan has put out some good films, but all the Wachowski brothers really did was The Matrix. So i would say if you want to read a good graphic novel than go for V for Vendetta, but as far as films go i would stick with The Dark Knight.

V for Vendetta was a decent film, it cut way too much from the novel but, overall it was decent. It was nowhere near close to The Dark Knight in quality.

By the way can we please stop talking about the Dark Knight? TDK discussions got old a week after the movie came out..

V pissed on the original novel, and severely watered it down.

So yeah, fuck no. TDK definitely.

The best performance out of both films was Ledger's Joker.

Both films feature a dark hero. Both are visually appealing.

I preferred the character of Evie over Rachel. The Rachel character seem peripheral, because in actuality, it was an addition to the source material. I would have preferred to see Evie more as Alan Moore had originally envisioned her, but still, a better film character than Rachel.

I also prefer the V story in that V manages to inspire others to revolt with him, while Batman is unable to enjoin others to fight in his cause against crime and corruption.

And so for me, Vendetta is a slightly better film than the Dark Knight.

I was young when I saw V and i was kinda pissed that there wasn't awesome fights like in the first Matrix (since it was written by the Wachowski brothers.) But I saw V recently, and with more of an understanding, I can safely say that I have more respect for it now. Yet it falls way way way short of TDK.
