Ultimatum (Spoilers)
I've just finished reading the Ultimatum book which, from what i've read online is hated by a lot of people who have read it. I just wanted to know what anyone here thinks about it, while the story isn't great, i thought there was something pretty cool about seeing some of marvels biggest characters being killed off almost every other page. (i'm not kidding, they were dropping like flies and there was some BIG characters just wiped out)

Fuck Joseph Leob! I almost didn't read Ultimatum casue how bad Ultimates 3 was. Valkyrie and Thor really pissed me off. It hard reading shit with them in it. He so pissed on Millar's and Bendis's characters.
Aye homie you notice how Leob almost killed off Millar's and bendis's characters but he spares all of his characters and then out of nowhere He gives the all the Defenders powers?
The only thing I really like out of it was that Magneto kills Wolverine. i was satified with that death...all of the others was just too WTF? Blob eats the Wasp and then Pym eats the blob. Sabrettoth decides to do the same thing and eats Angel's wings. And then what really killed me was that Maddox was a little boy reading comic books having no idea what the hell is going on. He just reading comics and making duplicates of himself blowing shit up,
I can't stand that guy. Thank you Leob for fucking up Ulimates Comic.

I totally agree about ultimates 3 being a complete crock of shit i could barely make sense out of that thing, and the whole thor/valkyrie thing just completely took it out of the story and then adding cap am for what appeared to be no reason? I don't know
I'm not saying it was a classic (far from it), but i did enjoy reading it not knowing who was going down next, i've not bought any of the further books to find out what happens because the way they treated each character by giving them about a couple of frames per death and then dumping them was totally wrong. But i will take it as a one off, putting it beside my marvel zombies if i ever want to see a beloved hero killed in a pretty brutal way. And i know marvel zombies is a million times better book with humour put in, i'm just saying that's how i regard ultimatum, like zombies but worse and without a sense of humour.

Sorry i just hate Loeb writing shit in Ulimate Marvel. He just pulls shit out of ass and doesn't explain what the fuck is going or follow up other important people like What the hell happen to toad, havok, and jeez the fuckin Brotherhood of Mutants?
No I did enjoy some of it...The whole everyone gets blown up by Maddox kind of hit a spot especially Captain Britain and the rest of the UN, even Emma frost. I did't see that coming.
I also hated how he had Magento was torturing and killing mutants....for no reason. I never understood the death of longshot.The guy was still a litlle shaken from breaking up with Spiral but still he was still down with Erik.
But depsite how bad Leob just tore up this story arc. The shock value is really good. I really didn;t see a lot of things coming like Professor X getting his neck snapped by Magento, Daredevil, Beast, Nightcrawler, Dazzler, getting drowned Or even Maddox blowing up the UN along with Captain Britain and the rest of the Captains. The body count is great and like I said finally Wolverine gets killed. But Leob brings back Wolverine 2.0 in Ulimate X....ain't that a bitch.

No need to apologise, i've heard a few people rip into it and it seems to be almost universally loathed and that's why i asked it. outside of the three ultimates books i never really read a lot of the ultimate comics so i kind of went into this with a blank slate and then bang everybody dies. I'm not going to try and defend loeb because he doesn't deserve it, the way he killed of steven strange made that decision for me, it was almost as if he was a nothing character. I'm definitely feeling the same way right now after cry for justice so i feel your pain.

Yeah I'm a Doctor Strange fan at all but I do recognize that he is an important figure reagrds the avengers. I do feel that he should have just lived or have a more respectable death. Getting his head blown up...well that just...wow I didn't see that coming neither.
Really I wouldn't have had a problem with the high body count. The problem is that nothing made sense and Leob is like the Micahel bay of comics.
I don't read anymore Leob's Ultimate stuff anymore. I read Ulitmate X by accident cause I didn't know that it was written by Leob. But I just stick with Millar and Bendis stuff.

While I was reading Ultimatum (I HATE IT) I was going "NO, LOEB YOU WILL NOT KILL ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN I SWEAR AND IF YOU DO I WILL STICK A FORK IN YOUR EYE AND THROW YOU IN A FUCKING COMICALLY OVER-SIZED PAPER SHREDDER CAPABLE OF SHREDDING HUMANS, and to the surprise of NO ONE he didn't do it. (you know I totally got to him.
