it's all about 2nd week box office. if it's good people wiil tell people to go see it. STAR TREK had a good 2nd week nearly winning again. Ct will probobaly finish third this weekend. Word of mouth will drive TERMINATOR as long as it's good. . Critics don't really matter.

I heard the main complaint by critics was the movie's poor lighting -

I saw this with my brother and his friend.
I had no interest in watching this movie and had no intention on watching it till my brother suggested us watching it out of the blue.
I had little memory of watching all the movies though I did watch them all long time ago when I was young.
I did watch the trailer but did not look at any reviews or its wiki page or the plot.
My brother on the other hand came in with high hopes and is fond of the terminator series.
We both thought the movies was lacking in everything that a well made movie should have including poor dialogue and poor ending and bad cgi and full of cliches as I mentioned before.
I personally give this movie a 2/5 because it did have some interesting action scenes but the poor dialogue and the bad cgi takes and predictability of the story and scenes greatly takes most of the actions scenes to being great and some of the good scenes being awesome.
Unfortunately Bale had to be in this film though if it wasnt for him and arnold Schwarzenegger the rating would be much lower though it feels like the people who made this movie tried to hard but just ended up with a one big fail.
You do hear "I'll be back" and "come with me if you want to live" but I thought they were poorly placed and wasn't delivered well. Of course you can't compare this film to Star Trek but I feel ST did a better job with putting in the catchphrases and was better delivered.
This movie was an exploit film for those who enjoyed the movie when it first released and clearly apparent that this movie was simply made to make a quick buck rather telling a good story.

i think it depends on the reviewer. Someone writing for the New York Times isn't going to see the movie in the same light as someone from a Sci-Fi mag

Yes, because Yahoo reviews also gave a B to Meet the Spartans when it first came out. I don't trust Yahoo for anything other than my email.

The movie is good, you guys/gals should check it out. There's action throughout the whole movie (almost to much action) to satisfy watching in a theater. Im not going to nick-pick on the plot, but overall i was satisfied with the direction it took in relation to the overall story arc. Some people will think that the movie just sets itself up for the next action sequence after the other...true, but I still overall enjoyed the movie (more then Star Trek). 8.5 out of 10 for me.

ok, I went to the midnight showing of Terminator, so I can say this having seen the movie: FUCK ROTTEN TOMATOES UP ITS ASSHOLE WITH A ROTTEN PICKLE!! I don't need vegetables to tell me how to think.
