Plot

i saw this movie not knowing it was a sequel to the original tron in 1982. furthermore, i have not seen the original tron so that may differ other peoples opinions on this so here i go. the story starts off introducing a young cgi animated jeff bridges and his young son living the good life. it later tells how jeff bridges character kevin flynn has gone missing. it shoots 20 years later with kevin flynn still missing, his company being owned by greedy video game distributers (since he owned a large popular video game industry that made tron the video game) his son sam flynn now an adult is a no life that pranks on the company that he decided not to own after his father went missing. the scene that shows the prank is pretty fast paced almost at a mission impossible type of scene. he is later confronted by his fathers old business partner and friend and is told a phone call from his fathers office has been going off even though the phone was disconnected for the past 20 years. he goes to the old arcade shop owned by his father and discovers a ledge behind the tron arcade game and discovers a computer/hidden room. he types in some code and just like a flash, is sent to video game land or the grid which is what its called. the rest of the film is extravaganza of light shows, deep story plots, some good dialougue, some bad and a father and son connection that i felt was done at good heart. are villian is claue or clue of however you want to pronounce his name. tron the character is shown only in a few scenes and if you wanted his devolpment improved, go watch the first film. the hot chick quorra played by olivia wilde was another sub character that was played very well

Overall Review

the 2 main things i have to mention that i loved about this film was the beautiful animation done in those light cycle scenes and the soundtrack which fitted so well with the film that i might go far as to say its one of the best soundtracks in movies ive ever heard. you got a fair amount of action scenes and they are so fucking cool. i really wish i saw this at the theater with the big screen and wide audio speakers. that would have been awesome. the atmosphere on the world of the grid is dark, gritty and electronic like a awesome video game which is what they got going on here. the characters are pretty good. the only characters that had the most development  was sam, quorra and claue. flynn kind of had a development, but thats because he's been missing for 20 years. his character kind of confuses me at first. he starts off all wise like yoda, but they give him dialogue that makes him sound like a hip old man. he was probably like that in the original film, but was stilled off a little on his development. as for tron, even though he wasnt in the film as much, you got the whole first film that explains his character. besides, the film is called tron "legacy". doesnt people know what legacy means anymore? the film kind of has one major flaw, the story. now i dont mind the story, the problem is that it follows under classic scifi development which will seem outdated to newcomers of how cinema is now a days and might not take it too serious for what it is. this being a disney film, it gets away with it. that being said, due to its mature tone as a action film it fails on both sides. and the dialogue isnt that great, buts its not embarrassingly bad. that last scene where sam has to say goodbye to his father is so emotional and jaw dropping that i forgive the other bad dialogue. the film in all is a fun, electronic, action packed ,sci fi story with heart (that it being a disney film). it really is a fun action movie that may seem outdated, but it mostly has to do with the combination of great animation and cliche storyline. me calling it cliche doesnt mean its bad though. i give it a high entusiastic MATINEE. definitely need to see it on a big screen at home with great speakers. tron legacy is not a perfect film, but that doesnt mean its horrible. it has its flaws but you will be satisfied with you got.

Yep...not a fan of Tron , never seen the traditional..but this will create it's way into the selection...just according to it's evaluation and the effects/sound ... I'm so far behind it's insane, I buy them and observe them a month+ later.

Great evaluation Master P , you keep us informed and smashed !

 A high enthusiastic matinee?

Why not full price, then?  I don't get that rating of yours.
