I suppose everyone else is reviewing Transformers, I'll post one too.
Synopsis:
Basically the story is a couple years since the first transformers, a special team is founded called Nest to locate and kill any surviving Decepticons still hiding out on earth. After battling their latest target, the dying decepticon says that the fallen is coming. Who is the Fallen? Well basically one of the original transformers that rebelled against his brothers, started the Decepticons, and tried to destroy earth a few thousand years ago. Now it turns out he's not done with our planet.
Meanwhile Sam Witwicky heads off to college but, not before getting his brain zapped by a shard of the allspark from the last movie, Sam keeps seeing images of Cybertonian letters, for awhile he doesn't know what this means until Megatron is ressurected and tracks him down. From there it's a race to find out what the hell's going on in Sam's head and to stop The Fallen from activating an ancient weapon designed to destroy the sun to harvest energon.

The Negatives:
Okay, this movie has been getting an ENORMOUS amount of criticism. I suppose I'll just get it out of the way, yes there are two racially insensitive Autobots in the movie but, I didn't find myself hating them as much as I thought. Yes they're the worst racial stereotyped CGI characters since Jar Jar Binks but, they kinda grew on me as the movie progressed( most people said they were barely in the movie but, it felt like they almost shared equal screen time with Bumblebee and Optimus). Which brings me to one of the other things I disliked about this flick, what happened to Ironhide and Ratchet? I actually liked both of them in the first movie but, in Revenge, they both had about a sentence of Dialog. Fucking 2 and a half hour movie and they couldn't squeeze in some more dialog for Ironhide and Ratchet? Of course not, we have to make way for Mudflap and Skids who had almost as much dialog in the film as Optimus Prime.
One last negativity I want to get out in the open, the lame jokes got on my nerves after awhile. Especially when the jokes make the Transformers look like idiots, Wheelie humps Megan Fox's leg, Bumblebee cries, Devastator has testicles( I thought the Spill crew was exaggerating but, yes the god damn robot has balls). The two most annoying characters( even more so than Mudflap and Skids) In my mind anyways were Sam's parents. I don't know why some people like these characters but, god did I fucking hate them. They're chock full of dumbass one liners, Sam's mom kept cursing and making very sexual jokes which got some shock laughs out of the audience I was with this afternoon. They got on my nerves just because whenever they were on screen they completely took away from the movie more than anything else.
The Plot itself has various holes popping up all over the place, why doesn't bumblebee talk? His voice was fixed at the end of the first film, why is Frenzy's head in Simmon's basement when his head was blown to smithereens in the first film? Didn't the Secretary of Defense from the first film say the pressure at deep sea level where Megatron was buried enough to encase him there forever? How were the Decepticons able to swim down and get him without being crushed by the pressure? I don't know much about the ocean but, I was pretty positive at that deep of a sea level you'd be crushed like a pop can.
The first half of Fallen is a bit tiresome and boring, I got bored with Sam's parent's constant stream of shitty jokes, I got bored with watching the characters walk around and do nothing. Thankfully the second half of the movie makes up for it with some great action scenes( the fight scene in the forest is especially cool). The ending was..well pretty bad. The movie just sort of..ended. It didn't have any big emotional scenes..not even the next film's bad guy saying something menacing to the camera. I would have liked anything better than the movie just..well ending.
Now.. The Positives:
There were still many many things I enjoyed about this film, for one I thought Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, and Hugo weaving were all great as Optimus, Soundwave, and Megatron, although soundwave had few lines, it was cool hearing Frank as a Transformer again. I loved that they gave Megatron and Starscream quite a few more lines in this film and emphasized on their relationship. Starscream is a scheming weasle just like in the show, and it's obvious he'd stab Megatron in the back as soon as he got the chance. I thought Jon Tuturro was pretty good as Jetfire. People said he sounded like a Pirate, I did notice his voice sounded reminiscent of Davy Jones from the carribean flims but, I still thought he was a funny and interesting character. Now, Jon Tuturro as Agent Simmons. They really turned down his silliness in this film and he actually grew a bit into a real character. He was funny but, not a complete jackass like in the first film. However the scene with the thong..was un-needed..and un-funny. Shia was okay, nothing special, I know the first movie helped put him on the map but, he wasn't GREAT or anything in that movie either. Megan Fox was fine, I was content with her...well all the running around in slow motion with a low cut top might have helped too. I think part of the reason Korey and Cohost were so negative in their review was that they didn't watch the cartoons or read much of the comics( I did both moderately, I mostly read about the storylines and characters online to prep myself for the movies). The human transformer is in the comics too, she's called a Pretender. And the Space Bridge used by Jetfire to teleport everyone to Egypt is in the comics and such as well. The problem however was that the writers didn't explain both of these AT ALL which added to alot of the confusion people experienced. It would have been nice if someone at least said: "Oh yeah Sam that girl that attacked you is a Pretender, a decepticon that can transform into a human disguise". I think Jetfire somewhat explains the Space Bridge but, his voice was so garbled I don't think I understood him.
Overall: If you liked the first one, I don't see why you'd dislike this one, It is basically the same movie, the plot is unimportant here. If you want big explosions, big robots fighting, alot watch this flick. Yes the acting is weak in some spots, the plot doesn't make sense sometimes but, considering what a bad week it's been, I was glad to sit down and enjoy some good ol' expensive time wasting fun.
