Pretty darn good year for music overall.

BALL SO HARD MOTHERFUCKAS WANNA FINE ME!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't put it on there personally.  I like Kanye and I like Jay-Z, but the album just couldn't hold my interest at all.  So many of the songs just seem to meander aimlessly, and none of them were really able to hook me in and sell me on the experience.

No particular order

Adele 21

Bon Iver Self titled

Fleet Foxes Helplessness Blues

Social Distortion Hard Times, and Nursery Rhymes

RadioHead The King of limbs

Flogging Molly Speed of Darkness

The Roots Undun

Bad Meets Evil

Tony Bennett Duets

Amos Lee Mission Bell

need to add one. Just got an album today that easily makes my list, and would knock pretty much everything outside of Adele off if it needed to.

Outerspace My Brothers Keeper

Social D's new album was really good.

I have around 300 albums from this year so narrowing it down to ten is a bit too daunting for me here is my top 25:

01. James Ferraro - Far Side Virtual

02. Geotic - Bless the Self

03. Cocos Lovers - Elephant Lands

04. Grouper - AIA

05. Tim Hecker - Ravedeath, 1972

07. Police Academy 6 - S/T
08. Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto - Summvs
09. Gem Club - Breakers
10. Active Child - You Are All I See
11. EMA - Past Life Martyred Saints
12. Disjokke - Sagara
13. Pandit - Eternity Spin
14. Roly Porter - Aftertime
15. Pure X - Pleasure
16. Nils Frahm - Felt

21. Coma Cinema - Blue Suicide
22. Swarms - Old Rave's End
23. Hans Bouffmyhre - Goodbye Anxiety
24. Love Inks - ESP
25. Blackout Beach - Fuck Death

Honorable Mentions:

In Flames - Sounds Of A Playground Fading - Best Track: A New Dawn

Even with Jesper gone, In Flames prove that they can still write consistently great music.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You - Best Track: Ethiopia

Even with John Fruisciante gone, The Red Hot Chili Peppers (like In Flames) can still write great music!

Megadeth - TH1RT3EN - Best Track: 13

It may not be United Abominations or Endgame great, but this decade has been very good to Dave Mustaine. And having David Ellifson back in the band proves this!

5. Mastodon - The Hunter - Best Track: Blasteroid

Mastodon are slowly becoming my favorite progressive metal band. Why? Their last past two albums (Blood Mountain & Crack The Skye) are the definition of perfect. And The Hunter is no exception! Every track is the definition of musicianship and the production is amazing! Sadly the same can't be said for Dream Theater's newest album. But, not the point! Check this record out even if you don't like metal bands!

4. Metallica - Beyond Magnetic (EP) - Best Track: Hate Train

Yeah, that's right I'm counting it! It may be a bunch of unreleased tracks and it's an EP, but again I still count it!.After Lulu (which for everyone reading, IT'S NOT WRITTEN BY METALLICA SO STOP BLAMING THEM! BLAME LOU REED) I was hoping Metallica would make up somehow, and what do you know they do for their 30th Anniversary. And I know many Metallica fans including myself are still wondering why these tracks didn't make it to Death Magnetic?

3. Machine Head - Unto The Locust - Best Track: I Am Hell (Sonata In C#)

Ever since the cluster-fuck that was 2001's Supercharger, Machine Head have decided to abandon the nu metal, and go back to writing the heavy groove metal that made me love them in the first place. First there was Through The Ashes Of Empires in 2003 and then 2007's epic The Blackening. Unto The Locust is no exception to this statement!

2. The Foo Fighters - Wasting Light - Best Track: Arlandria

What can I say that hasn't been said already? Dave Grohl, you've been getting better at making music ever since the first Foo Fighters album in 1995. And this past decade has been VERY kind to you!

1. Anthrax - Worship Music - Best Track: Revolution Screams

Axl Rose, take some notes on having a long gap between your last record and releasing a new album that doesn't disappoint! Anthrax have proved once again, that they can deliver on making a great new album. And having Joey Belladonna back in the band is a definite plus!

1. Radiohead - The King of Limbs

2. Jay Z & Kanye West - Watch the Throne

3. Childish Gambino - Camp

4. Incubus - If not now, when ?

5. Common - The Dreamer, The Believer

6. The weeknd - House of Baloons

Too tired to think of more :(
