Tales from the Crypt had alot of episodes. One was probably alot scarier than 6th sense. And the first time I saw the Shining I was scared. Not during the sixth sense though.

Hey, Supermanx1, thanks for commenting. and yes I refer to the 1972 Amicus British Horror Movie, not the American TV series. Lol..Like you just said ..You saw "The Sixth Sense" as a child, and I saw "Tales From the Crypt" as a child.. funny what can Creep us out when we were younger. ALL Subjective!

the old dark house? c holocaust is just sickening..even by todays standards...dug ju-rei footage...have you seen the curse (noroi)? eek!!

Hey, Steven, thanks for commenting. You mean the 30's "The Old Dark House", right?..not the William Castle version. Have STILL NOT caught "Cannibal Holocaust". Thank you too, for letting me know about "Noroi" aka
"The Curse". *never heard of this, trying to track down a copy*

Hey, steven, I just rented "Cannibal Holocaust"... One of THE MOST REPUGNANT movies EVER! EXPLOITATION for Exploitation's sake! To quasi "wrap" the movie in "Anti Censorship" quotes, & yet have the good Doctor "condemn" the movie at the end felt cheap.. a Cheat by the director to have it BOTH ways. NO Logic to the story, what film crew would behave in such ways?? Ok, I get it... the varous tribes treat the "White film crew" the way they are treated... the film crew rapes the native women ...they in turn rape the white woman. Do we need to see women impaled on Spikes or a penis carved off (even a rapist)?
The many Animal mutilations felt Sensationalistic.. served No story purpose, and seemed done just because they "could"... * I by NO means sympathize with PETA people ( you have to kill it, to grill it ), but even hunters would see this as a waste* So which group of people were the real "savages"? This film didn't make me think, or offer a social commentary * like a George Romero film would*.. Just an EXPLOITATIVE WASTE!

I really disagree with Trilogy of Terror, thats one of the weaker Anthology films. Yes the Zuni Fetish Doll is a classic, but the rest isnt that great. Infact it takes away from the greatness that is the Zuni Fetish Doll. I feel ToT 2 did it better, but not being a big Dan Curtis fan, I didnt like the film. Trick R' Treat, Creepshow, Black Sabbath or Tales From The Crypt are much, much better in my opinion.

Also dont think Halloween should be that high. Yeah its a classic, and revolutionized the slasher Genre for better or worst, but I saw the film and I didnt really care for it all too much. I can see why it was so great, and I really do enjoy the film; but at the same time, not being born during that time, the film just comes off as the same old slasher formula. Im not a big fan of slasher movies, I have a few I like a lot, but its not one my favorite forms of horror. I also got to say I never cared for the Halloween theme, and the reasoning behind it is a long story.
I also think that Dawn of the Dead, while in color, and having better effects; isnt as good as Night Of The Living Dead. Night Of The Living Dead had great atmosphere; a claustrophobic house, a dark night, the fact its all in black and white. What they did with that film was shocking and very revolutionary for that time, and it gives off a vibe that you dont get from most films.
Also, not sure if I missed it or not, but why no Nosferatu? Another one I would have put is Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? The film is full of suspense and a really grizzly tale of jealousy between two sisters. Also has some great acting by a older Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. I also would put Hellraiser and Eraserhead up on the list, just because of the horrendous gore and visuals. Others I would recommend are Repulsion, The Other, Videodrome, Cannibal Holocaust, The Hills Have Eyes, Carnival of Souls, Maniac and Cujo The list is pretty good, but your missing a lot that should be on it.
